• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Yes it does. It applies to these areas of our life as well. God literally says he gives us a new heart and spirit, this is not for us to remove, despite having free will in other areas of our life where we may disobey God and give into the flesh. No true Christian who has the holy spirit can hold forgiveness forever, How do I know that? I can only speak for myself, and most likely many others, knowing what Jesus has done for us on the cross for our sin, it is absolutely impossible... So that's exactly why the verse is there. So these parts, sanctification and basic direction towards righteousness is not even in our free will. God is doing all the work in me and guiding me.

When we get the holy spirit and a new heart, we really do change our way of thinking, whether we want to or not. The flesh is still there so sometimes that can get in the way and our free will can make us grieve the holy spirit, but it will never overcome the holy spirit and our changed nature overall... That would be impossible, nothing can overpower God. No human flesh can do something to take away the holy spirit or remove God's love for us who are chosen, those who decided to accept the gospel and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for saviour over our sins.
If it is impossible, I wonder why Jesus made the point that unless or until we forgive, God CAN'T forgive us.
Can someone go to heaven if God has not forgiven them?

Because not everyone is saved and it's an explanation of what happens after you become saved.. Same goes for many other versing addressing specific sins. A Christian who is born again of the holy spirit will not commit holding forgiveness forever if they are truly saved, the holy spirit inside them won't let them and yeah some stuff like this goes beyond out free will.

Of course not. God only forgives those who believe in him.
My point was, some do believe in Him and were born again, but circumstances happened and they are now in a position of NOT forgiving someone. In the words of a brother I heard testify:
God: You are not going to go far with Me unless you forgive him.
Brother: I don't WANT to forgive him. I want him dead, and I want to be the one that does it.
(This went back and forth)
Finally God: Would you forgive him if I could make you willing to forgive him?
Brother: Hmm. If you could make me willing, then I suppose I would be willing.
God. OK, whenever you think of him, pray that I will bless him.
Brother: to us: have you ever tried NOT to think of someone! It seemed like I thought of him minute by minute!
He thought of the other guy: "God, bless so and so, but you know I don't mean it!"
Brother: finally he could pray a blessing on the other guy and mean it. God had made him willing to forgive.
Moral: this story turned out well. They became good friends.

In other words, some times believers hold grudges and refuse to forgive, and God tells us, while we are in that state of unforgiveness, God cannot forgive us. Since believers sin, that is a dangerous place. As you said, "of course not." If such a one died in unforgiveness, they could not be sent to heaven - even if they were born again.

Then there is the testimony of the preacher in Africa: His wife slapped him and he took off in his car, planning how to get even with her - right up to when he ran off the road and crashed his car. An Angel took him to see hell and said this: "If God would allow you to stay dead, here is where you would be." He was offended and told the angel he was a preacher. The angel then reminded him of what he was planning just before the crash. He was planning revenge - not forgiveness. He died. He was dead for two or three days. His wife and her friends stole his body from his family and took it to a Reinhard Bonnke
meeting. Several people prayed and He came back to His body. Now He preaches real hard against unforgiveness.

This is how I read that scripture.

ok.
So I’m terrified of the mark.
I’m scared because I’m confused.
People say it’s a chip in your hand (even if it’s not the mark, im never getting that thing), biometric IDs/drivers licenses/passports, or Sunday worship, or a tattoo (which I would never get), or something not even visible.
It makes me scared to the point I can’t think about anything else
I just know that if I do see it in my lifetime, I would die before I get it.
I just don’t know how to calm myself down about it.
I suppose it’s because I don’t know if it’s already implemented...or if I’m already marked without realizing it.
Doesn’t the Antichrist and false prophet have to arrive before the mark of the beast start?
I’m scared
Yes. The Antichrist will be on the scene when this happens. We will know how to recognize it because we will not be able to buy or sell anything without it . That is when we will have to go back to trading items for our needs. Our monetary system will have to breakdown before this happens and we are starting to see this now. Signs being posted about coin shortages at the treasury.
