Release International Prayer Shields, China and Sri Lanka

China
Pray for Chinese Pastor Zhang Shaojie of Nanle County Christian Church who has been transferred to a different prison in Henan province to carry out the remaining five years of his 12-year sentence for alleged fraud.

Lord we pray for Pastor Zhang Shaojie. Be with him and help in all that he's going through. Please get him released soon. For advocacy on his behalf. Use him as witness to other prisoners and guards, as he shares your truth of the gospel. Meet his daily needs and deliver him from evildoers.

China
Chinese officials have taken advantage of the pandemic to accelerate their crackdown on the church. Pray that God’s people will be strengthened in their faith and draw deeply on His Word.

Lord help believers dealing with diverse forms of persecution in China. For strength to rely on you through all their trials and troubles. For growth in their faith. Bring many more Chinese to faith in Christ. Build you Church there, you kingdom come. In Christ name, Amen.

Sri Lanka
Since the Easter Sunday attack on them, members of St Sebastian’s Church, Negombo, have held services under armed guard. Pray that Sri Lanka will witness a new era of religious freedom where such protection is not needed.

Lord be with your people in Sri Lanka. Bring change where they can worship you in peace and safety.

Sri Lanka
Judges in Sri Lanka recently ordered the release of ten suspects held in connection with the 2019 bombings. Pray for justice for all those who died.

Yes God that these would get the justice they deserve, and also many of them would come to faith in Christ.

Sri Lanka
Sri Lankan Christians say they have been strengthened by the outpouring of love from the global church following the 2019 attacks. Pray that the global church will be known for the love that binds us together.

Lord for growth your church to reach out to believers in countries like Sri Lanka.

Easter Monday
In Sri Lanka, survivors of the Easter Sunday attack on Zion Church, Batticaloa, where 31 people died, resumed worship services the week after the blast. Thank God for their strong faith and courage.

Bless the surviving believers at Zion Church, help them keep moving forward with their lives.

As we celebrate our risen Lord today, let’s pray that His resurrection will be made manifest in the lives of those who have suffered for their faith, including our brothers and sisters in Sri Lanka.
