He explains the bread He shall give is His flesh that He shall give for the life of the world

because He gives of Himself to give us life because He died

I believe it means understanding completely why He came for one and to become united with Him fully by letting Him completely change you and to make you offer yourself also fully to God which you are able to because of His sacrifice

as Jesus is the word made flesh and when we eat His words we are able to commune fully with who He is and what He did

for unless we come to know Him through His word who is the word made flesh we can not come to know the one who died for us and by eat His body and drink His blood it means to know why He came to meditate on Him to know how it is necessary for Him to die and to be sanctified as we come to know more how His body was given for us as a sacrifice as we commune with Him through His word and pray we come to know His flesh and blood sanctifies us and and if we know how much He loves us the more we have relationship with Him and are able to meditate on that seek to be like Him in our life and He wants us to do that to have life meditating and reading His words to have understanding and knowing Him better to be able to form a relationship with Him with our knowledge and thereby come to Him to be able to know Him and allow one knowledge of Him to change one is chewing as it allows what we know by being able to meditate on His love for us personally to allow us to help form a relationship with Him to make us seek to be like Him and love Him and others and also we only are able to come to partake of His sacrifice if we have knowledge of Him and form relationship with Him

so the word trogo used for chew on His flesh need not mean you need to eat Him in an ordinance though Christ could mean such is necessary to have life now but what happens when you can’t have Eucharist why does God then offer Himself without it to sanctify one

As the site says the word trogo is also used in Jeremiah with regard to eating

“In John 6:54, the Greek word used for “eat” is “trogon” which has the idea of chewing and cutting up into little pieces. The Septuagint uses this same word in Jeremiah 15:16 where Jeremiah says that he found the words of God and “ate” them.’

still people should have communion incase it is required to be saved on death there is no excuse it is called the Lord supper so it is in some sense a meal either for healing to be united to God now or a means of communion just to worship to witness to others it was a command of God that shows He wanted us to do it

John 6:40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day

John 6:54 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

I think it is likely spiritual because Jesus says it is His will to raise all believers on the last day so if one did not follow because he does not know God required it literally I think he would be saved

But even if it is literal it could be only to have life now for that may have been what He meant when He said all who believe may have everlasting life He does not say they have everlasting life now as He said for those who eat His body and blood. For I do not think by saying those who eat His flesh and drink His blood will be raised the last day that that means only those who do will be raised the last day for I think maybe Jesus just repeated that they will also be saved on the last day

though it could be literally His flesh as we can not know so one should do it but that does not mean other believers can not be saved.

When Jesus said unless you eat my flesh and drink My blood you have no life in you I think it means to truly believe that He would be dying for our sins for He said what then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before for when they see all the wrath and punishment of sin on Him they have to make a choice to believe He died for them and not that He was a sinner
and by believing in Christ and believing His flesh suffered and blood was poured out for us we are able to have spiritual life and so believing such it is food for we are able to talk to Him and for that to give life to us because we believe thus He said it is the Spirit which gives life the flesh profits nothing it is not because of partaking of bread without relationship with Christ that we are made whole thus Jesus said as I live because of the Father so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me and Jesus lived by talking to the Father so He wants us to also be able to be able to have relationship with the Father not fully unlike Him because He is one with the Father and can but through Him. Jesus explained the true meaning to the disciples before they left but it was mentioned only those left who didn’t believe in Him because they did not want to believe in Him if He would die because as Jesus said they only seeked Him for His miracles and was looking for a kingdom here but Jesus refused to be king on earth because He taught His kingdom is not of this world

I believe the communion could be real body and blood because Jesus emphasised the need to eat His body and blood after the Jews said how can this man give us His flesh to eat. But it seems they thought He meant to eat physical flesh and He did not seem to explain to Jews He does not mean physically He let them misunderstand as they were not disciples. They thought He meant to eat just human flesh literally to be cannibals and not a partaking of life made possible because of His sacrifice and that sacrifice being divine because of being united to His Spirit He did not worry to explain to them probably because He wanted them to seek and ask questions He let them turn away then but He would make sure they all had other opportunities to believe and know what He meant later to hear Him which they can choose not to believe or not for they should have understood He would be a lamb offering and give Him a chance to prove His claims when He preaches to them if they would not be alive at the time of His death

Thus communion could be really body and blood but it is not required for salvation it is for those who can be saved for them to be stronger now to have life now to be able to be fully united to God now so that one can have full life now not just to have fruits of the Spirit in not the full measure to have life now but for later

On the last day which is the day of one death or judgement day all believers will be raised on the last day but it is only those who ate His body and drinked His blood that have life already to not die at all temporarily but all are raised eventually so they are raised at last day
