• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Blasphemed the Holy Spirit in my thoughts

I read a comment online, it said something like "I have a demon oppressing me" and in my mind I thought "I have one too", but then my mind thought "Holy Spirit". The Holy Spirit is of course not a demon or anything bad but the Blessed Spirit of God, although I do have another spirit which is a demon oppressing me.

It all happened so fast, I didn't plan on thinking it and of course I didn't mean it, and I'm really sorry. But I basically blasphemed Him in my thoughts, I just hope this doesn't count and can be forgiven. What do you think?

EDIT: For clarity.
Although I am not a doctor or medical expert, this sounds very much like OCD to me.

What prevents you from treating it as OCD?

Dude you don't even understand. If something is in your mind, it can read your thoughts.
I have my own thoughts on whether the devil can or can't but none of this matters. What matters is putting BOLDLY (Heb 4:16) the thought into the devil's head that he is a DEFEATED FOE (Col 2:15) in no uncertain terms and reminding him the I KNOW that he's actually terrified of me, and not because I'm something special but I have the GREATER ONE Jesus (1 Jn 4:1) living and abiding in me! As we resist him with the Name of Jesus and letting him know that we're redeemed and set free from his power because of the precious blood of Jesus he get's scared! Not us...BUT HIM! (Jm 4:7, Rev 12:11)

People need to know though they can't choose to stay an empty vessel, empty of the word of God in their spirit. Jesus warned about people getting the devil cast out but they stay empty....they don't choose to fill themselves with the things of God, prayer, relationship with him and keep their spirits FULL of his word, he said if they don't do these things they could end up in a worse shape. Matt 12:45 God's word and words have POWER and LIFE which drives out the darkness but we do have to feed them into us.

There was a time in my life that I was in a devilish oppressed state. I was a Christian but this was the state I was in. I won't get into the details for that's not really important. What's important is how I got out of it. I'm speaking this here to people who already have asked Jesus to come into their lives to be their Lord. They have God in them and available all about them whether they think they do or not. But what if one is still feeling oppressed? Well here's what I'd do and have done. I'd make sure I'd worship God in singing at least 20 minutes a day and not just singing songs about God but singing songs to him. I'd also begin boldly declaring the things I put down in my first paragraph above , and I'd read OUT LOUD the gospels, Matt, Mark, Luke and John and book of Acts for an hour and a half....30 min in morning, 30 in afternoon, 30 at night. (or however one might like to do it)

Nope not saying you have to do it this way for all of your life but there are times one must be pumped FULL of the word of God and God's anointing and power is in the word and will drive back darkness. Now I know some might claim they can't do that but then turn right around and watch 3 hours of television a day. Do I have to do what you say or something like one might ask? Nope you don't have to ....YOU GET TO. Really if our heart is coming to a right place we should be saying do I have to watch 3 hours of worldly television a day as if that's the chore like a legalistic bondage. No you don't have to...... give that the worldly things the 10 minutes a day.... and give God the other 2 hours and 50 minutes, that'd be fine. And no I'm not saying it's a sin to watch maybe a certain show, sports or a news thing.....I still do that in a measure.....but let's be honest are we really giving God the time it takes to put a lot of strength in us? I have to believe a lot do not.

Whatever man, shut your mouth.

Wouldn't a better response to that poster be that you're praying for their enlightenment and that it's your belief that they're wrong. You kind of threw me off the rails when I saw you say this for I have thought you've been giving a lot of good word. (although not agreeing with everything)

And about that video you posted Jesusfann.....look I very much believe things can manifest where you actually might be able to take a picture of something. But what does it prove on here. There are fake, scam videos the fill up the internet. I'd say you're more effective if you'll stay with the word of God alone. Pictures and films don't prove anything and I say this as one who'll I'll just claim an angel appeared in my bedroom in the night time many years ago and gave me a message. Never would I try to prove that though with a picture. People wouldn't believe it anyway and neither should I expect them to.
