More Bomberman characters! All the ones I've shared so far are Charaboms (creatures similar to Pokemon that have special abilities) except Rooey, which is a kangaroo-like creature that comes in multiple colors.

Just posting a small update: I noticed that I had given my drawing of Youno LV.1 the wrong ears, so I fixed them along with another small mistake I found. The old image has been replaced and you can see the new one in this post: Multi's Art Gallery

After not drawing any more Charaboms for a while I've started drawing some again, so maybe I'll post more art soon. :)

Okay, I've gotten seven more Charaboms drawn since the last time I posted some, so here they are!

The following drawings show my new shading and lighting style.

Oxbat (the official name is Ox Battra, but I call it Oxbat because there's another Charabom called Battra that's totally unrelated. And that one's not even a bat, it's a parrot. :p)

Baun LV.3 (the official name is Panther Fang in one game and Ban in another game only released in Japan. I changed the spelling since Ban is an unrelated word in English.)

Is that... a bomb in the kangaroo creature's pouch?

I really like the first one that looks like a phoenix. Super cool. What program do you use to make these?

Why is it carrying around a bomb, may I ask? Also, I'm amused that there's a bomb emoji available on here. lol
The bomb that Kani (LV.3) carries in its pouch improves its special abilities and is also used in battle. Whenever it uses the bomb a new one grows in its place; but a mother that needs to carry her baby in her pouch will not grow any bombs.

I haven't drawn LV.1 or LV.2 yet, but only LV.3 has a bomb in its pouch. LV.2 has an empty pouch and LV.1 doesn't have a pouch at all.

I'm going to make a new plushie, of the Eevee in my avatar! :) And I'll definitely share my progress with you!

If you remember this Eevee plushie I made a couple years ago...

5PoQNWr.png

...I'm actually using the same pattern, but with a number of changes made (it may be cute and cuddly, but the proportions and pose are a bit off and it needed some work).

I'm making a prototype first so I can see how the changes look and if any more need to be made. I'll share that too, but be ready because it's probably going to look funny! :p

Here's the prototype!

IrC0Fds.png

And a few things you might be wondering...

Why is it so colorful?
Because I didn't have enough of any one color of felt left to use on the entire plush.

Why doesn't it have a face?
Since this is just a prototype and was made simply to test the main shape of the plush, I didn't bother adding extra features like the face, ear and paw details, bow, or flowers. They'll be added to the final version, of course.

Why is it leaning forward?
Because I messed up and placed the tail too low on the body (the exact same mistake I made on my first prototype several years ago and forgot about ). But at least it looks a lot better than my first prototype, which had its legs sticking out to the sides so it couldn't even sit up! I better remind myself to place the tail higher on the body next time!

What do you think of the pattern now?
It still needs a little more work, but it actually turned out better than I expected. I made some more small edits to the pattern and will begin working on the final version next! ;)

The Fluffy the Eevee plushie is finished!

A comparison of the prototype and final version (I think the final looks way better :p)

And a picture of Fluffy with the other two Eevee plushies I've made!
BOvPPXG.png

Just in case you might be wondering...

What kinds of changes were made?
Yes, the Fluffy plushie uses the same pattern as the largest Eevee in the photo above, so she's also like version 2 of that plushie. I tried to make some improvements:

-The original plushie's ears are floppy and don't stand well on their own (I made them stand up for the photos :p). I tried to fix that on Fluffy...first I was going to sew a fleece lining inside the ears, but the ears' shape was too awkward for that to work. So I put a popsicle stick inside each ear as I didn't know what else to use, but sadly it didn't help much. Her ears don't stand on their own either. :( But I guess the popsicle sticks at least help them stay straight.

-The eye shape was changed slightly.

-The front head piece was widened and more rounded in the final version; I think it looks better that way.

-The original plushie's body is too big compared to its head, so I made it smaller. Somehow the neck seam on its body turned out much bigger than on its head, not only making it difficult to sew but also making Eevee's neck a bit thin and floppy. This was fixed on Fluffy; I had to make her belly wider to match her head size, however. Making her body smaller also makes her closer to life-size. The original plushie was intended to be life-size but ended up a little bigger (the measurements listed are with the ears standing up).

-The seams where the inner legs and belly attach were changed so the legs would be more in the right position. When I made the original plushie I didn't know how to make the legs positioned properly, so the pose is only the way I wanted it because I stuffed it very carefully! I knew how to fix that this time so Fluffy's pose looks better!

-I'm still not great at embroidery but I've improved since making the original plushie. Its embroidery doesn't look as good, and its mouth and eyebrows are barely visible. Of course, that could just be because the fabric is dark.

No toes?
I don't usually add toes to plushies made with furry fabric anymore because they're barely noticeable. When the original plushie's toes started coming out, I just removed them.

So what do you think of the Fluffy plushie?
For the most part I'm happy with how she turned out - she's so cute and soft and cuddly! I do wish her ears stood on their own, though. And after placing the tail too low on the prototype I placed it a little too high on the final. Because of that Fluffy's front paws don't touch the ground. But at least she is still adorable.

Also, my mom gets the credit for making the bow. I can't tie a bow.

This project took a long time! It's nice to have made another cute plushie, though! :)
