To have well-trained pilots who are women, minorities, and white males
So you acknowledge your priorities are not safety first, foremost, most, number one, numero uno, at the expense of all else?

What instances of discrimination, against the very best pilots possible, are you citing? Why wasn't the ACLU informed, and/or why did they lose the case?

You do notice, that most Americans don't have x-ray vision, and can't see into the pilot's cabin anyway, and never even think about the pilot's skin color, only about getting from A->B safely? Why are you distracting them, from their business, with this whole "r.a.c.e." issue, when they don't even care at all?

It will need, at a minimum, 10,000 to 11,000 new pilots in the next decade (likely more).
The only thing Americans "need" is their flights to be s.a.f.e.

Even ideology doesn't do you any good, in a smoking crater

If there has been any actual discrimination against hiring the very best pilots, whatsoever they happen to look like (and nobody cares), inform the public and the ACLU, there will be an uproar

The UA Twitter account is not a reliable source (for information about UA) ?
Seriously, create a new thread. This ranting about United Airlines and their hiring practices is completley off topic from an incident that happened THREE YEARS AGO.

No one is arguing the United airlines has set course for hiring diversity, we all agree that United Airlines is in the beginnings of hiring more women and POC as “flight deck” employees.

You @Erik Nelson seem to have reservations about this diversity-move, citing concerns about “safety”.

Or have I got that wrong?

Is there a reason your argument is that women and "minority" races are unable to pilot an aircraft as safely as a white male? And don't tell me that is not what you are claiming, otherwise you wouldn't be trying to claim "safety" as a concern.

Unless I was on an extremely long-distance flight, I would be thrilled to get a $500 voucher from in airline in exchange for being bumped into "economy plus."

We were thrilled when we were able to use my FIL's retiree vouchers (he only got a certain number a year, although he and his wife could fly free unlimited times.) We had it down to a science. We always knew which flights would have empty seats (usually early A.M.) and never had a problem. When we were traveling to Grandma and Grandpa with a family of five, it was a huge savings.
