• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I read a comment online, it said something like "I have a demon oppressing me" and in my mind I thought "I have one too", but then my mind thought "Holy Spirit". The Holy Spirit is of course not a demon or anything bad but the Blessed Spirit of God, although I do have another spirit which is a demon oppressing me.

It all happened so fast, I didn't plan on thinking it and of course I didn't mean it, and I'm really sorry. But I basically blasphemed Him in my thoughts, I just hope this doesn't count and can be forgiven. What do you think?

EDIT: For clarity.

That's not blasphemy ... that's having intrusive thoughts.

Should I feel responsible for every thought that pops into my head.

No ...

If you had blasphemed the Holy Spirit you would not be concerned about it and you would not have started this thread.

I don't just think I KNOW. You did not commit the unforgiveable. You DID NOT, DID NOT, have or take any continual or even temporal mindset that even sought to put down the Holy Spirit and resist him. You actually should consider the Apostle Paul BEFORE he got saved. You have to know that he resisted the Spirit's work as a religious leader even, and even had Christians arrested, killed and put in jail. He did not as a continual thing keep resisting the Spirit's work (for that's what the unforgivable is) but repented and let go of his PRIDE. That's the man Jesus and the Holy Spirit used to write 2/3 rds of the New Testament.

What do you think?

I would like to know whether you believe Jesus more than your intrusive thoughts ( which are not real, only the product of an ill mind )

Jesus has said that those who believe in him Will be Saved.
He has said that he will Keep those who are his and present them to his Father at the last day.

You do not appear to believe him, why?

Paul wrote that we have been saved by him ( Jesus ) from the wrath of God.
John wrote that he will forgive us all our sins.

You do not appear to believe them either why?

Have you found and read repeatedly so you've memorised it25 tips for successfully treating your ocd.

Listen, satan is aware of what is in The Bible. I guarantee, knowing what I know that you did not blaspheme God's Holy Spirit. You'd be a satanist if you did with an extensive knowledge of a ritual that result's in Condemnation. Calm down. satan play's with your mind to torment you.

You are nowhere near Blaspheming The Holy Spirit based on Your description. Cheer up, and relax.

your also describing para-psychological expierience's. These are demonic in nature which mean's their source is a demon.

I don't talk about this much but, and don't freak out, so many people do this it ludacrius you are evoking the interest of something demonic because of a sin issue in your life.

demon's become interested with people who sin, so to stop having intrusive thought's you have to break a pattern of something your doing that's attracting them and do something that repulse's them. It's simple.

also evaluate the object's around your house. you can't live with a demon and not expect to have demonic thought's.and don't freak out they aren't a permanent addition to you whether inside of you or outside of you.

Basically what's going on is the demon's nature is Conflicting with your Personality and Love for God. It's a great sign you have a problem with this and fear it.

The Bible says if you resist the devil he will flee from you. When intrusive thoughts that are not of God enter your mind, say something like "get away from me in the name of Jesus".

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

I remember when I thought I blasphemed the Holy Spirit and found out what it actually was, awareness of what is is messes you up. I guarantee you won't ever commit it in your life.

I think a lot of us get that fear early on. I was afraid I had done it because I faked praying out loud in tongues as a young man attending a Pentecostal church to fit in.

demons also play on your ignorance to trap you in fear which they then mess with your head. You aren't going to hell.

I have been posessed once, and I know all about the tactic's of demon's and satan. You won't go to hell. But there are some thing's for sure you have to get rid off and some thing's you have to Stop doing. demon's will cause you to go crazy if you don't stop.

Jesus also said that those who blaspheme the Holy Spirit have no forgiveness, not in this world nor the world to come. I believe in what He said, and somehow both of these things must be true.

If someone actually thinks and believes that about the Holy Spirit, how can they be receptive to forgiveness? They've put up a wall against it.

Since you're ignorant.

How to Blaspheme The Holy Spirit.

You must become a satanist and reject God.
You must ask for your name to be stricken out of the book of life and say thing's that seal your fate and you must commit your life to something you apparently don't want to.
Stop complaining, it's annoying.

A demon is scaring you, Seriously, stop complaining you are NOWHERE NEAR Blaspheming God. You need to stop letting this thing control your life. In Jesus Name I rebuke Whatever is bothering you! Now go to bed and stop ruminating. demon's are annoying freak's. You Say You Believe in God, Then you are nowhere near becoming a satanist. You need a real hate to Blaspheme.

If You can say Jesus IS GOD, Then stop worrying, you'll never betray God. You can not be plucked from Jesus Christ'S Righteous Right Hand.

You'll be a Christian UNTIL YOU'RE DEAD!
I Told you this so you can stop worrying. you aren't going to become a satanist so you have nothing to worry about! If you Blasphemed God you wouldn't even call Him God nor be here. peace!

1.) Unless you verbally Stand before God and Verbally Blaspheme you aren't going to hell.
2.) Unless you verbalize Blasphemous Statement's with real hatred toward's God you aren't going to hell.

Take some time to relax and while your at it tell that demon to shut up, and that you now know it's lying. It'll probably even leave on it's own now because it now know's you know you haven't and won't. It game is over! demons also try to get you to ruminate to stay awake at night so you get fired! go to bed.

Thanks for your response but there's so many opinions on what the unforgivable sin is, even in this thread, that it confuses me. Also I am in Finland so it's mid day over here right now.
