I'm a philatelist and just came across this stamp of mine from 1969:

Nowadays it would be unimaginable that Genesis 1:1 could be printed on an official stamp. But back in 1969 they did it!
I find it remarkable how much the lawlessness and godlessness has increased over the last 50 years.

I'm retired from the music business and popular music used to be full of references to God and the Bible. Most of these things were poor doctrine or even blasphemy but not so long ago folks went to church and believed in God.

I mean this stamp isnt like godly stamp to begin with it has Apollo written on it , just the space program if it was some godly fearing people they would name it after maybe Elijah and chariots of fire or something similar nope they had to name it after pagan god .

True.... but they were lynching blacks and hunting gays around the same time.... two sides to every coin really. Yes. the last lynchings were in 1968.
Well, of course there has always been godlessness in this world. The increase is notable though.

Of course hunting gays is not what God wants us to do, but today's acceptance of any kind of sexual impurity and sin is greater lawlessness than ever before.

If you printed a quote from the Bible on a stamp today (unrelated to Luther's birthday or anything religious) the post office would be sued. That's the difference between back then and now.

I do too. But I'm old enough to have seen the change. Just think, to the younger generations this is "normal".

Unfortunately I've never seen the change myself, I grew up in this millennium. Perhaps that's why this stamp astonished me so much :)

I was born at the tail-end of the boomers (early 60s) and I've seen it. Some tell me nothing has really changed and that the internet just makes it seem so - a point I concede is possible, but don't really believe. Coinciding with this change was love waxing cold.

I don't believe that either. When my parents tell me about their childhood it's like a completely different world to me. A lot has changed since then - morally and value-wise.

I agree, I don't really believe it as well. I was born in the late 60's and have seen many changes as well.

It is true in the fact that bads things and sin have always been around and you see it up close and personal, etc with the internet. But to me, it's the fact that more and more are definitely calling "evil" good and good evil" as we saw stated in the bible. And being more and more offended with Christianity and God is at an all time high. So that has definitely changed.
