You thought you were still doing a great job. Those guys always do. But nobody is at their best hungover.

Few are actually paid to be, or expected to be, their "best". If I always did my best I would quickly take over any company I worked for. :D People are paid to do a certain job within a certain timeframe, and no more. Most jobs can be done half asleep. In fact according to educational standards needed by industry for the general workforce a high school diploma isn't even necessary, to wit: 8th grade English, 6th grade math (circa 1980).

The strength of youth pulled us through.
I am amazed at what I could do at 22. Nightclub until 3AM, breakfast at Denny’s, sleep for 3 hours, then go to work. I only did it once a week or so but I could NEVER do that now.

Me neither, waay too old for that nonsense. :(

When you're young suffering through a hangover is an acceptable price to pay for the fun of the night before. And we and our rowdy friends are going to do it all over again tonight! ^_^ ^_^^_^

People are losing their jobs and careers by not embracing the socialistic policies of the Left.

People are losing their jobs and careers by being outed as complete cretins on social media.

Do you think they've tried, oh, I dunno... not being a complete cretin?

Or is that too much effort?

Tell me about it. Before you know it, you're in for the weekend because you pulled a muscle putting on your socks.

What a pity -- it's reality.

I edited that post.

In America we can make our own personal reality. It's called the American Dream.

Great looking hair is the American Dream for some. I met a fellow who worked as an electrical engineer only until he saved up enough to rejoin his "river rat" family on their Mississippi River camp, and lived that lifestyle until the money ran out. He was as happy as a (freshwater) clam.

Indeed... but a person losing his job for being a cretin is solving a problem, not making it worse.

In America we can make our own personal reality. It's called the American Dream.

I'm afraid reality doesn't work like that... that's why they call it the American Dream...

Really, it's right there in the name -- not easy to miss...

No?
Seems like he picked a good dream.

As per the following article regarding Black Lives Matter violence if Officer Chauvin is found innocent, how do you think our government leaders should handle such an event? What should President Biden do and what should mayors of cities do?
‘All hell will break loose’ if Chauvin not convicted, buildings will be ‘on fire,’ says model, BLM activist
This tells me that BLM and their supporters don't care about truth or the facts of the case. They are nothing more than a lynch mob who will not be satisfied until Chauvin is hanging from a tree (metaphorically speaking). As far as I can tell, looking at the facts of the case, Chauvin may be convicted of manslaughter if at all. Assuming that the jury was actually fair and honest with the evidence.

Maybe they should storm the US Capitol and call for the hanging of public officials, then we can say they're just people fighting for freedom.
Or they can burn down cities and loot black owned businesses. Then we can say they are peacefully protesting and getting their reparations. Oh wait, that already happened.

Naw? You're describing the terrorist attack on the Capitol where they murdered police officers, destroyed/stole government property and damaged historic landmarks.
Are you talking about the antifa/blm attacks on the Portland capital?

Heck, they should storm the courtroom now, try to stop the proceedings. Who cares about the legal process?
At least now you are being honest.

If you can dream it (in America),
You can do it.

Of course the dreams of some are the nightmares of others (politically speaking).

Was he a complete cretin?

Most eventually temper their dreams and succeed quite well. It's the minority that's making all the fuss.

I like it. The damage they have done will be subtracted from any future reparations (then they might actually owe money).

I'm hoping that 2022 will reveal the real "cretins" (2020 House elections was a good indication of what's to come).

I'm guessing you believe that 74 million Americans are cretins.

Not just politically speaking... some dreams just can't be allowed.

We call it "having laws."

Most eventually temper their dreams and succeed quite well. It's the minority that's making all the fuss.

And we all know how some folks dream of dealing with minorities...

Again, we have laws for that.

Wow! You've pegged out the irony meter.

And we all know how some folks dream of dealing with minorities...

Again, we have laws for that.

There are no laws that compel people to do the right thing.
