Hi all,

Over the last two weeks, a close friend and I have had some tough conversations. I had approached them a couple of weeks ago to try to talk to them about some things, mostly things I felt off about with our friendship and sensed they were feeling the same way. We had a conversation in email two weeks ago and I thought we had gotten on the same page and then later in the week, saw they deleted me from one social media platform. This upset me and I ended up deactivating my accounts for my mental health. They texted me three days later saying they felt like we were on different pages with our friendship and whatnot. We haven’t talked since last week and I’m asking for prayers for resolution. That we can figure things out and come to a resolution so that we can keep our friendship and have a better understanding of one another. I’m praying the next time we talk that it goes well and helps make our friendship better. I would greatly appreciate any and all prayers

Hi, so sorry for your pain. This is hard. Friendships are an anchor in our lives and when we feel we are not in sync with a friend we love, it deeply wounds us. Communicating by email can cause a lot of misunderstanding. You might want to consider sitting down with your friend and having a conversation where you can hear each other's voices and see each other's eyes and body language. It makes a big difference. It sounds like this is a very important relationship to you, so investing in this kind of communication seems worth it. When you speak to each other, be ready to listen to each other. You both may have caused pain or sent a message to the other that you never intended. The goal is to heal and to work things out. Leave the pride outside the door and come together in love and understanding. If this is a friendship that is strong and good, it will stand this test and you will both experience healing. I will be praying for you.
