1 Timothy 2:5. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus.

The Law was ordained by angels through the mediator Moses.
Galatians 3:
19
Wherefore then serves the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the seed should come to whom the promise was made; ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
20 A mediator, however, implies more than one party; but God is one.

When we seek and gain reconciliation with the Father through the arbitration of His Son,
we acknowledge and accept His terms as they are established by the Mediator.
Hebrews 6:16. For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation
is for them an end of all dispute.

There can be no further deliberations or renegotiation with God.
The Cross does not just represent the acceptable sacrifice made
by the Savior for all.
It represents The Father's final judgment against sin.
Death is The Standard.

Romans 6:
5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we
also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might
be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
7 For he who has died has been freed from sin.
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no
longer has dominion over Him.
10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives,
He lives to God.
11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God
in Christ Jesus our Lord.

No renegotiation, terms are final. Any other gospel is cursed.
For he that is dead is freed from sin.
With this comprehension, the role of the Mediator is made clear.

Hebrews 8:6. But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry,
inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant,
which was established on better promises.

Hebrews 9:15. And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant,
by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant,
that those who are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
