Hello you and welcome.

Here are some friendly questions:

Is in the Christian walk about professing that you are a Christian, making sure everyone knows you were baptized on a certain day, how you sing at worship service, how to use your words of professing Jesus in songs prayers and worship and then the service at church stops and you leave the building?

What happens next?

Do we keep going afterward through our actions?

Does the at the end of church service the thanking of God stop?

What does the God require of us?

Matthew 6:1 “Be careful that you don’t do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. 2 Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. 3 But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does, 4 so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

5 “When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward. 6 But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. 7 In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking. 8 Therefore don’t be like them, for your Father knows what things you need before you ask him.

To answer your last questions... "What does the God require of us?"

John 6:28-29 about sums it up.

1John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

1John 3:17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

James 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

James 2:16 And one of you say unto them (in word) Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

Again with the following verses (edited in) to the mention of worship in the original OP.

Ezek 33:31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh,
and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love,
but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

Ezek 33:32 And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

1 John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

1 John 3:19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

The Christian life is not a life of convenience, but of costly discipleship. The taking up of our cross daily and following Jesus Christ. I have not yet mastered it and I am ashamed to say that I am not very good at it at the best of times.

Praising God is so much easier to do when we are in the mood, when we feel we can make the time. We are called to praise God anyway.

Loving others is so much easier when we find people likeable and amenable. We are called to love anyway.

Giving to others: our time, our money and resources is so much easier when it does not cost us too much. We are called to give anyway.

Hello Dqhall,

Those scriptures should be encouraging for anyone who reads and listen to what is being said by the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your time to comment, and sharing scriptures.

Hello david hunter,

Thank you for sharing these scriptures:

28 They said therefore unto him, What must we do, that we may work the works of God?

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

That is the part of believing but is there more to this afterward, possibly letting God and Jesus Christ by the spirit in and through us?

Is there any way to strengthen this though and the faith of believing on the one whom God has sent?

What are your thoughts on these questions brother.

Thank you for your time and comment.
Hello 2BeholdHisGlory

These are excellent scriptures you share here, that talk about Let us not love just in speech but in truth by our actions of our love towards God.

If we hate a brother yet profess we are a believer a person is not in light yet in darkness.

1 John 2:11 But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them. 12 I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven through His name.

Galatians 5:16
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

(The flesh can hate, and despises but God is willing to help us overcome these temptations in our flesh when it comes to fighting against flesh and blood)

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love; = joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

Romans 8:
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

These scriptures should help increases the faith of a believer, in understanding that there is the spirit of Christ, and holy spirit that is dwelling with-in you, and if you desire to continue in your faith and increases please keep growing in the knowledge of God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. 2 Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.

3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

Thank you for taking time to comment.
Hello Anthony2019,

You mention about how the Christian life is not a life of convenience but of costly discipleship by the taking up of our cross daily and following the Lord Jesus Christ.

None of us will ever compare to Him, so understand your saying ' Am no master at it ' - for me either.

You are right though it cost giving up our own life, and making time to pray and give thanks to God and the Lord Jesus Christ while living in this world, along with sacrificing ourselves for the sake of others in those times when it is made possible.

You are right when it is easier to love others when they are likeable and amendable - though if it is possible by our heart to not harbor hate or distain for others even if they are not as likeable or amendable and pray for those people instead so we dont become hardened for when the chance to be able to conversate with them may arise.

Here is an interesting scripture you may find very helpful ; do not believe this is the one am looking for but it is still useful.

Hebrews 13: 20 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Oh one more comes to mind. This is another promise from God as well just like the one above.

2 Corinthians 12:9
But he (God) said to me (Paul), “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
