Are all gun owners irresponsible? Of course not. But more guns doesn't make us safer, and that's proven by the fact that other countries have fewer guns and fewer mass shootings.

That still raises the question how could we possibly accomplish that given our current situation? The guns that are in circulation are not going to just disappear and forcing people to relinquish their guns only disarms law abiding citizens. So how would you propose that we accomplish this goal of less guns in America without putting law abiding citizens at risk?

So I shouldn’t worry about my family then, I should worry more about the lives of people I don’t know than the people I love with all my heart? Why are these people’s lives more important than my wife & children? I didn’t own a gun until after I had a wife and children. I bought one because it’s my responsibility to protect them.

When the Nazis took power in Germany one of the first things they did was to outlaw private ownership of fire arms. Then they started rounding up people they considered undesirable; Romani[gypsies], Jews, homosexuals etc. I can't happen in the U.S.? It already did people of Japanese ancestry were rounded up, imprisoned and their property confiscated.
The ONLY thing preventing that from happening again is Amendment #2
