No, it would indicate they disagree with me. There is a reason I left the R party 16 years ago. However, I will say that all felonies are not created equal. I have not read the legislation, but I would say that some should still be allowed to purchase firearms. Heck, in many states, just admitting to misdemeanor abuse in a domestic abuse case, even if you're really innocent but just want to get the nonsense over with can come back to bite you when you try to legally buy a firearm only to find out that that misdemeanor prevents you from ever legally owning a firearm.

The challenge, as indicated in the graph I posted above is this: Most murders are committed via handguns. However, Feminists, though generally leftist in their views, see a handgun in your purse as the great equalizer. So getting congress to pass some sort of handgun limiting legislation (other than a limit on rounds) is a non-starter. So they go after guns that are actually very rarely used for homicide.

This is a classic case of how an environment rich in defenseless victims is prime territory for a murderer, and why every law-abiding citizen should carry a firearm.

Or, just maybe, rather than telling everyone to keep a deadly weapon on them like this is some lawless frontier wilderness where every person takes the law into their own hands; we actively work to make our society a better place by making it more difficult for those who shouldn't have deadly weapons to have them. We enforce the good gun laws we have, and we make better ones; perhaps we don't glorify violence, or glorify killers by giving them the notoriety they so desperately want.

Perhaps we start taking the American epidemic of gun violence seriously, instead of sticking our thumbs up our butts and whistling Yankee Doodle Dandy.

How many more people need to be sacrificed to the diabolical blood god of America?

There is a word for those who can do good and refuse to do anything, evil.

If you live your life in such abject fear of the outside world that you feel the need to carry a firearm with you just to go by a box of Cap'n Crunch, You're missing the point of Freedom.

You're stepping over dollars to pick up dimes.

I wonder, would you likewise say its a classic case of why every law-abiding citizen should carry a nuclear weapon?

Can't get much more of a deterrent than that can you?

Question:
Who would go shoot up a whole foods if they knew everyone inside had a suitcase nuke and weren't afraid to use it?

Answer: No one would.

No real argument against nukes for everyone, is there?

You know that many gun owners use rounds that have eyeballs and always know friend from foe. And they never go through drywall and take out a friendly. You know, like those bullets in the movies and on TV.

Umm, no, it's downright deceptive. It says "murder victims", but at the original link it says the numbers are for homicides. Murder is a subset of homicide; a significant number of homicides are justified and not all of the rest are murders. So that right there calls into question everything that site posts.

Plus, even if they hadn't been deceptive in that, the chart would be missing necessary context unless it also included similar data for number of murders (and rapes, etc.) prevented by someone using those same weapons.

Acting in self-defense does not constutute "taking the law into your own hands", it's a natural right that is specifically protected in law. Has been since at least the time of Moses.

Furthermore, this idea of the "lawless frontier wilderness" is a fantasy. There is law on the frontier, in the absence of government agents it's upheld by law-abiding citizens and, in fact, crime rates in (for example) Dodge City were quite low. If you think that 19th Century vigilantism was a bad thing, then you have no idea what it really was.

Too bad these moms didn't have another gun on them so they could have returned fire to stop the bad guys then, huh?

You'd be better to say that about someone who arranges for agents of the State to do the carrying of firearms for him, so that he can relieve himself of the responsibility for protecting himself and his community against evil men, and stick his head in the sand so he can ignore the fact that when seconds count the police are minutes away.

Boy, you're really digging at the bottom of the barrel of irrationality there. Didn't take very long, either.

Rave on as you wish, you've amply proven my point already.

Since conservatives, at least equally, take such advantage of whatever crisis du juor they can use to their advantage, I stopped reading after your opening salvo, as you instantly rendered whatever came afterward, moot.

But hey, I’ll go ahead and double down. There’s no pattern here, is there?:

View attachment 296713

I Was completely Unsurprised that this shooter was:
1) Male and NOT African American.
B) Gently escorted by police to an ambulance so he could get his owee looked at after (allegedly) Killing 9 innocent civilians and one cop in cold blood.

I expect they stopped to get him something yummy for his tummy to eat on the way to the hospital too... He did look famished after all. Shooting up a King Soopers definitely burns a lot more calories than spraying bullets throughout a typical Publix or Kroger would, especially at that altitude.

And we can’t forget to account for the excruciating emotional pain he must’ve felt when they “came for his gun” violating His 2nd amendment rights, making him a political prisoner on top of everything else..

Poor fellah.
Hopefully some patriotic southern state will erect a statue of him in a town square somewhere to honor his bold sacrifice for our freedoms....

Normally a Syrian refugee of Islamic faith who is decidedly left leaning (anti-Trump, anti-racism) would be called a "minority" or a "person of color" according to those on the left.

Funny how quickly the wind shifts when the narrative doesn't exactly fit the situation.

But hey - gun grab! Hate white people! Blah blah blah blah blah...

Ever think all this media driven constant hate is the issue central here? Or foreign wars we have no business in?

I mean the man couldn't hardly have picked a more white, affluent and left leaning area to attack (Boulder). Who is responsible for the destabilization of Syria? Check! Who is responsible for the "white people are racist" narrative? Check check!

But it's guns that are the issue right?

To be honest, if it were poor blacks being gunned down by an armed black man, this thing never would have made headlines anywhere in this country... that's how much "black lives matter" to liberal elites, especially of the media propaganda machine variety.

But go on, complain some more about those racist white people and their guns... it's see through, but hey, no one will notice right?

Laws in place in Colorado at the time of the shooting:

Universal Background Checks
Red Flag Gun Seizure laws
"Hi-Capacity" magazine bans

Plus, the state has received a passing gun-control grade from Gifford's Courage to Fight Gun Violence organization and the grocery store where this took place was a "gun-free zone."

I was going to say, I thought Colorado had pretty tough regulations for a not exclusively blue state.
