Absolutely not, but all I’m saying is that had the Jewish community apologized for their ancestors killing Jesus, it would have gone a long way in mitigating hostility against Jewish people. I’m not trying to justify killing anyone. The fundamentalists who kill non-Christians will get judged by God and probably not inherit salvation.
So a simple apology would've prevented the crusades, the Holocaust and all that?

I’m not so sure about that. Maybe not. But an apology made by the Jewish community on behalf of their ancestors for killing Jesus would surely go a long way in helping mitigate any feelings of animosity Christians might harbor against Jews for their crime of deicide. That’s for certain.

That's a crock. Any Christian still wanting vengeance is no interested in an apology "by the Jewish community", whatever that means.

So because some Americans from the North were racist against black people, you think that discredits all the sacrifices made by non-racist Union soldiers who died on behalf of black freedom and equality?

What are you talking about?

Several posts back, @anna ~ grace described Muslims who live in areas with high concentrations of other Muslims as:

Non-Muslims begin to feel squeezed out, as they notice more and more Muslims getting promoted over non-Muslims with more experience and talent. Adhan and nasheeds and the Quran blasting from cellphones in the break room continually. No one wears headphones. Everyone else feels too scared to speak up. Tiny things.

These folks just don’t not assimilate. Assimilation can mean giving up dress, language, faith, values, or culture, but this goes way beyond assimilation.

They subtly and then not so subtly shove and push and eventually bully into silence folks who are not them. I’ve seen it happen. I’ve seen gangs of Muslim boys following frightened women into the parking lot, jeering and leering. Demand that they stop, and you’re a racist and a bigot. It’s awful.

To which I responded, "You mean they start acting like white people used to openly act?"

You then replied, "White people didn’t used to act like that. Are you not aware that a massive civil war was fought in the US where approximately 11% of all white males died so that blacks could be free? If white people acted hatefully towards blacks, so many white American soldiers from the Civil War wouldn’t have sacrificed their lives fighting on behalf of black equality."

The claim that "white people didn't used to act like that" is just blatantly false, as any reading of American history not tainted by the Daughters of the Confederacy would tell you. Your use of the Civil War to bolster your claim is patently absurd - even if it were true that everybody fighting for the North did so out of altruism and racial egalitarianism, it wouldn't negate either the fact that the all of the white people in the South fought against them or the fact that whites in the North turned on blacks en masse once they were no longer somebody else's problem.

Except the fact that Jesus was indeed killed by an angry Jewish mob.

Sure. But as a message, "the Jews killed Jesus" has a little more juice behind it than a mere description of historical events.

You identify as a Democrat. Most liberals here in the US routinely blame the racial disparities in success between whites and blacks on “systemic racism,” whatever that is supposed to mean. Even though being a racist in America today in considered an unforgivable sin, leftists think white people are perpetuating systemic racism against black people and holding them down. They are placing collective blame on white people for this, even though most white Americans oppose racism, and using it as way of advocating for unfair ideas such as affirmative action (or racial discrimination against white people) and reparations for slavery that existed over 150 years ago.

Assuming you think like most other Democrats, why would you think it’s okay to place collective blame on white people for the racial disparities in success between whites and blacks, but act incredulous when I think it would be a good idea if the Jewish community apologized for killing Jesus? It’s sort of the same thing in the sense that Jews are being held responsible for their ancestors for killing Jesus, though certainly not as severe since only an apology is being asked for.

For one thing, Jesus died 2,000 years ago. Jim Crow officially ended within living memory for a lot of people.

Additionally, AFAIK, the institutions responsible for executing Jesus aren't the institutions now in place in the Jewish community. The same cannot be said for racial issues in the US where many of the same governments, corporations, and other institutions that enforced racial oppression in the past exist today.

Let’s pretend the US government hadn’t already issued an apology for the role our country played in slavery. Would you think that if the black American community asked the US government to apologize for slavery that happened a long time ago, it would be a “wanting vengeance” sort of thing?

In spite of "apologies" for racism, there is no shortage of Whites that continue to earn for the good old days and resent civil rights being available to all citizens. Confederate flags are still selling well.

The majority of whites are not White Supremacists just like the majority of Muslims are not Islamic Supremacists.

Slavery was the institution oppressing blacks. It no longer exists today, since slavery has been illegal for over 150 years. Therefore, you are wrong to claim there are institutions in existence that are enforcing racial oppression against blacks today.

The US government and American corporations always go out of their way to hire less qualified blacks in lieu of more qualified whites. You haven't noticed this?

Are you saying that because there are racist whites today, that discredits all the non-racist whites who oppose racism? By the way, the Confederate Flag is a symbol of southern pride and heritage, not hate.

Are you unaware of what happened after the Civil War?

I know exactly what happened: black Americans were granted freedom and equality with whites. Cool fact: black American males were given the right to vote before white American women were.

No, you don't seem to know what happened.
