You've got to admit those Icelanders really know how to name a volcano.

I'm trying to figure out if this is a good thing (more future real estate for Iceland) or a bad thing aka a sign of the coming Apocalypse....

But nevertheless seems like a good opportunity for posting some Viking music for this momentous occasion.

This is so cool! As an amature volcanologist I just love watching this.

Sure wish I could see this in person. The up close vid with commentary was very interesting.

I'm happy to let someone else to hike up (in winter weather) to video it.

At about 2'30" "There is gas pollution". Then: "It's kinda hot here" standing next to the still flowing larva. "It can be dangerous".

It's perfectly safe, other than the normal risks of hiking up a mountain in winter. And poisonous gasses. Or the threat of further eruptions.
