If the Trumps can get a clearance, anybody can.Sounds like the issue was that these staffers couldn't get a security clearance because of the past pot use, which doesn't apply to elected officials.
Of course.Rules for thee and not for me?
WH axes staffers over past pot use even though Kamala Harris has admitted she smoked it
Harris says she has smoked pot and supports marijuana legalization - CNN PoliticsThis is a bad look for the administration, no doubt. Fox's spin is a little disingenuous, though, as usual.
The staffers were not "axed." They were asked to voluntarily resign.
The staffers were told to answer truthfully on the employment questionnaire, but that their answers regarding pot use would be overlooked by the White House. Unfortunately, the DOD has a rule that security clearances can be affected and/or denied by answering in the affirmative to past drug use. You have to have a security clearance to work as a staffer in the White House. It's a bit of a catch 22. BUT, the fact that Bill Clinton and Kamala Harris admitted to pot use publically and served as President and now Vice President in the White House kinda makes the whole rule questionable. It forces the DOD to apply rules unequally. The rule needs to be axed. Unless someone is currently using drugs and/or is involved with some kind of drug network then past use alone shouldn't really be a factor. Especially for pot.
So she should resign, right?
And yet this information is still being ignored.Three pages into the thread and we finally get some insight beyond Fox's distortions.
For what reason? So she should resign, right?
Rules for thee and not for me?
Kamala, according to the standards placed on their staff, should be fired or impeached.
Impeachment is a bigger can of worms than a simple termination. Firing the staffers is a lot easier than firing a Vice President, as if a Vice President could simply be fired. Agree or not, the people chose her, and it should be public rule that terminates her service, also. The staffers can be fired by the same people who hired them.Or get Kamala impeached.
I find it hard to believe there are many under the age of 80 who haven't tried pot, at least once. I mean, perhaps there are some conservatives who wag their crooked finger with one hand while slamming bourbon shots with the other, but for the rest...incredulous, I am.
Nothing different since anytime I can remember. Just some nonDemocrats struggling to find a whine topic.Of course.
The adults just took over and this is the best whine the Right can find. Sad.We're better-off having our country run by people with more sense.
How much pot do I need to smoke to make that comment sound clever? The adults just took over and this is the best whine the Right can find. Sad.
For what reason?
Ah, reasons!, how silly of me.At least read the first post. It wasn't very long.
You seem like someone that would do better with edibles. How much pot do I need to smoke to make that comment sound clever?

Haven't tried.
Haven't even tried a cigarrette.
Actually, smoking anything is gross to me.
This is "adult," is it?You seem like someone that would do better with edibles.
