2 Samuel 22:26f--

With the loyal thou dost show thyself loyal;
with the blameless man thou dost show thyself blameless;
with the pure thou dost show thyself pure,
and with the crooked thou dost show thyself perverse.

"Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to." -Luke 13:24

Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye?

You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. —Matthew 7:1-5

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

We're not responsible for the hand dealt to us today. But we are responsible for how we respond to it, choosing to see it as opportunity in disguise and making the most of it.

No matter how the day goes, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Life is a miracle we too easily take for granted, as are the countless blessings both big and small bestowed upon us. God made this day exactly as He intended for His glory, and He is worthy to do so.

The Jews have a legend and I think it serves as a useful warning:
"Four entered the pardes — Ben Azzai, Ben Zoma, Elisha ben Abuyah, and Rabbi Akiva. One looked and died; one looked and went mad; Elisha ben Abuyah looked and apostatized; Akiva entered in peace and departed in peace."

Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38 "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."
