"The new discovery is particularly groundbreaking because one of the excerpts that was deciphered presents a version of Zechariah that was never encountered before, he said."

Verses 16 and 17 of the eighth chapter of Zechariah read: “These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to one another, render true and perfect justice in your gates. And do not contrive evil against one another, and do not love perjury, because all those are things that I hate – declares the Lord.”

How is the above "English" translation of its BCE script different, so as to render its IAA Dead Sea Scroll Units translation as having notable differences from scholarly Jewish/Christian interpretation like that of the JPS Tanakh, KJV, NASB, HRB, CLV or LEB ??? Is it possible that the IAA is actually implying that the differences have more to do with their current Hebrew translation than the following English translations ...

16 These are the things that ye shall do: Speak ye every man the truth with his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates; 17 and let none of you devise evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath; for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.' (JPS Tanakh)

16 These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates: 17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord. (KJV)

16 These are the things which you shall do: speak the truth to one another; judge with truth and judgment for peace at your gates. 17 Also let none of you devise evil in your heart against another, and do not love perjury; for all these things are what I hate,’ declares the Lord.” (NASB)

16 These are the things that you shall do. Let each man speak the truth with his neighbor. Judge with truth and justice for peace in your gates, 17 and let each devise no evil in your heart against his neighbor, and do not love a false oath. For all these I hate, says YAHWEH. (HRB)

16 These are the things which you shall do:Speak truth each man with his associate; truth and the judgment of peace, judge in your gateways;" 17 and each man evil to his associate you must not devise in your heart, and a false oath you must not love; for all these I hate, (averring is Yahweh of hosts)." (CLV)

16 These are the things that you must do: speak truth, each of you, with his neighbor; practice trustworthy judgment and peace in your gates. 17 Do not devise evil in your hearts against your neighbor, and do not love a false oath[p], because all these are things I hate,” declares Yahweh. (LEB)
[p] Literally “an oath of deception”

The only notable differences was the inclusion of verses beginning in the 16th Century and the various English translations of YHVH ( :נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה = Declares the Lord: )

The one notable difference they mentioned in the article was the change of "gates" to "streets". Maybe it was changed to make it more clear because cities were ceasing to have gates at that time?

I personally think it is ironic that they found this, with the change, at this time, when people have been in the streets with signs and yelling "no justice, no peace" so often for the past year.
When real justice comes, it might not be what a lot of people were expecting.
