I believe in christ but I wondered what psalm 16 shown below means when it says drink offerings of blood I will not offer and I wondered if that is a reason why others thought they have reason to reject Jesus as messiah but what was meant was drink offerings of blood of pagan ritual of mixing blood of animals with wine or offering sacrifices to a false god for one was condemned for following a God you have no proof is true and one had known true God for He revealed Himself to them to know is true for I think others drunk wine for passover though even if not Jesus shows He is the truth the true Passover lamb and so it would be necessary to partake of His blood spiritually and therefore nothing wrong with drinking wine to resemble christ blood or to drink His blood because he is the true God and such blood can not give life to Spirit unless you believe in Him to drink it as He mentioned He intended it to be received spiritually but He also accepts people to believe they should do so in an ordinance as He is the true God
but Jesus is God as He was prophesied to die
Psalm 16 below explains their sorrows shall be multiplied who follow after another god how it shows how it becomes more difficult to come back to Christ if one leaves Him because one will be given greater sufferings or one coming back to Christ will be accompanied with sufferings or it may be harder to come back to believe without more struggle and it is only keeping fixed to God can save one as He is the portion of the inheritance and He will show the path to God. Or perhaps it means if person leaves Christ after one knows Him they will have greater sorrow than never knowing Him if one does not turn back and one may not always have chance to repent such as those who receive the mark of the beast.
These scriptures are clear Jesus would die for people psalm 22 isaiah 52:13-15 Isaiah 53 zechariah 12:10 Isaiah 53 Daniel 9:26 and Daniel 7:13
Zechariah 12:10 (A)“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will (B)look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him (C)as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.
The one whom they pierced is clearly God and he could not be a son unless He lived among them as the prophecies also say the messiah God will live among them as it says unto us a son is given unto us a child is born and this is name He will be called everlasting Father prince of peace and Daniel says messiah will be cut off they would not be mourning for Him and as though for a first born son unless He would have died. Isaiah 52:13-15 and Isaiah 53 are clear that this suffering servant would be an actual atonement for others sins as a person can not die to save others or himself as he is not fully righteous himself and only God could pay the penalty to bring man back to God as the sins of man require infinite punishment which only God can pay. People need knowledge to be justified thus it is not merely to die for people for them to choose to repent of sin
Daniel shows Jesus though being God as Son of God because He took on flesh and He is brought to ancient of days to show His oneness with the ancient of days and to reveal the ancient of days to others and to Daniel it is revealed it would be one like the Son of Man that would allow one to see the Father.
Daniel 9:26 “And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood,And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
Daniel 7:13-14
13 “I was watching in the night visions,
And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven!
He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him.14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom,That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him.His dominion is an everlasting dominion,Which shall not pass away,And His kingdom the oneWhich shall not be destroyed
Isaiah 9:6
6 For unto us a Child is born,Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Psalm 16
1 Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.2 O my soul, you have said to the LORD, “You are my Lord,My goodness is nothing apart from You.”
3 As for the saints who are on the earth,
“They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god;Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer,Nor take up their names on my lips.5 O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup;You maintain my lot.6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;Yes, I have a good inheritance.
7 I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel;My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.8 I have set the LORD always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol,Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.11 You will show me the path of life;In Your presence is fullness of joy;At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
