Trump supporters find me tedious but I have not given up hope I am just trying to work out how to get a conversation started.

Trump supporters find me tedious ...
It's pride that tells us that we must be right and that we have to convince everyone of the same thing. When it comes to spiritual issues, yes, truth is truth. The "everyone is entitled to my opinion" attitude is not helpful, even if your opinion happens to be correct. Opinions are not doctrine.Trump supporters find me tedious but I have not given up hope I am just trying to work out how to get a conversation started.
I wonder how Joe Biden will be viewed in four years time.I don't have hope of changing people's minds nor do I try. However, I have seen minds changed, but I suspect it was usually done as a progressive process of evaluation over time.
I had a former colleague who was a rabid Trump supporter. She is a very bright woman, Phi Beta Kappa. She moved away so I remained connected with her only through social media. It was interesting to see how her pro-Trump posts began to dwindle over time and then disappear. Her husband's job sent them to Europe for two years. I always wondered if seeing how Americans and Trump were viewed internationally had any bearing on her change of attitude. She is back in the U.S. now, but her posts and her page have been scrubbed of anything Trump.
What is so bad about having different opinions? .
???How can it be so difficult to accept that not everyone agrees with you...
Yes , There is a lot of wiggle room , politicians are ridiculously dishonest in general.Do they have a chance of charging your mind? If not, why would you assume you will change theirs?
You think that nearly half the voting population of the USA is wrong. .
???
I don't understand that.
the statement "Why is it so difficult to accept the fact that people disagree with you" could be used to argue against anyone expressing an opinion
That's laughable. "Trump was elected because people were reeling from two previous losses." No, that's not why he was elected. In 2008 John McCain ran for president, a man of great character, conviction and purpose. I didn't vote for him but cried at his funeral.
In 2012 Romney ran, a man who had had progressive accomplishments in Massachusetts, a man of strong religious faith, a man who has shown his character as senator.
Both lost.
I think that in 2016 Republicans, reeling after two losses, wanted to try something completely different, and they won.
Hopefully now that they have lost decisively, definitively, honestly, and fairly with the same candidate who won in 2016 they will go back to the statesman role. John Kasich. Jeff Flake.
Candidates who are respected by independents and even Democrats, who would work with both sides.
