• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Seven years, huh? Do you have any desire for a job? Some people think that’s the mark of success. I had a slightly less than normal life with some of the successes and failures. I kept shooting myself in the foot. When I felt good I sought female companionship. When I sinned God shot me down. But when I decided to obey Him everything got better.

Do you go to church? That’s a source of life and growth. People to meet and love and forgive a lot and preaching. You get fed and grow stronger plus the spiritual exercise. I even got married. Be willing to do the work and he will lift you up to a whole level, even if you are sz.

I hate to tell you this, but there is no cure for Schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a lifelong condition, you may be doing better than you were seven years ago but, you will always have relapses and episodes throughout your life.

I thought it was important for you to know that because, I thought my Schizophrenia was gone at one point in my life and I had a massive psychotic episode that lasted for several months. During the episode I attacked my wife, general hospital staff, and when I was finally placed into a mental hospital I constantly tried to escape from the place. Was not fun.

I'm sorry to tell you that but, I thought you needed to know. There is no cure, you can only delay episodes you cannot completely stop them from happening.

A family member with epilepsy, told me that people can never be healed of it. Well, there was this One Man! (Luke 9:38-42)

Also many say this about bi-polar. I know somebody who was healed, and he could hardly believe it himself!

With The Lord, all things are possible :)

There doesn't have to be bad news about this? 2017 was when I had an episode. But now I am calm to the max. I was about to get back to college in 2020. I got to really do some free time work as a living. But recording my work progress on Youtube.

I am good. Just I want you guys to know I have schizophrenia. And to know what I should be aware of? Sometimes the Schizo fades aways if you treat it well. Like taking meds, acting normal, do a personality Examination test on your own? Or an evaluation test for yourself. Sometimes I forget I have this condition?

Can people see that condition in the works you do? Like art, movie acting, Interviews, and recordings for Youtube? Sometimes I can be random at times. Things like this...

You are normal for you, that’s good. Me too. But if you have no more fighting to do with it then live it up in a Christian way and with God do your life. But watch out for stress.

No one knows you have the condition until you tell them. People will assume you are normal if you feel and act like you are.

JS: I developed Schizophrenic behaviors and was concerned but before I saw my doctor I was in a thrift store and saw a book and felt strongly to pick it up. It was Breaking the Viscous Cycle and it had a diet that helped heal digestive disorders. I went on the diet and within two weeks those symptoms disappeared.

I mentioned this to my doctor and he said studies were showing people with leaking gut can develop metal problem including Schizophrenia. He out me back on wheat then tested me for gluten intolerance. I came back positive as he suspected.

I now gluten free and have no metal issues at all. So can it be cured, only if its caused by leaky gut caused in turn by gluten sensitivity or intolerance.

JS: I strongly felt the L-rd hand in this. It will also likely work for anyone who has IBS or like symptoms along side schizophrenia. There maybe other causes as well that I have not experienced for heard of but this one connection and cure is now proven.

Dear Davis,
If you have only had a episode since 2017 and none recently you may be pretty good going its just that things can aggravate you in future causing you to relapse if not on best meds, Or at least exhibit early warning signs. For me a identification of a cause of stress would be a close family member becoming unwell (mentally), that would be enough stress to give me early warning signs, not necessarily relapse, because of the medication doing its part to cover me. The thing was I experienced early warning signs showing psychosis to where I became physically unwell from stress, enough to cause me to lose my job. I was at my job for 3.5 years and did at times full time work there. I've got my job back now.

We have to be aware of our early warning signs: Starting with triggers (stuff that can make you unwell), once you have a lot of stressful triggers, you can notice things are different and progress further things that are more psychotic.

Realise when it is causing a problem (look for physical signs),
identify the causes (underlying causes),
review your lifestyle (can this be handed over to someone else? Am I taking on too much? Prioritize things you are trying to achieve in life.
Eat healthy and exercise
take time out (prioritize self care),
be mindful (practice mindfulness regularly as it involves paying attention to our thoughts and feelings in a way that increases our ability to manage difficult situations)

From Alex

I found out that I have bipolar, schizophrenia, and Anhedonia. I ain't going to let these illnesses slow me down. Through Christ, I am going to make a living with the projects I work on. And make lots of money to pay the bills. And stop relying on my pension. I have to push myself to work hard as I can. :) ;)
