A statue of Saint Jude was also destroyed, and one of the pews was damaged and thrown out onto the street.

OAXACA CITY, Mexico — A group of feminists taking part in a women’s rights march in Oaxaca City on Sunday attacked Ss. Cosmas and Damian parish, as well as other buildings, both public and private.

As part of the protests organized in Mexico for International Women's Day, masked women armed with stout sticks broke open the outer doors of Ss. Cosmas and Damian March 7, smashed the windows of the inner doors, gained entry and stormed inside to tag the interior with graffiti, destroy glass cases, windows, pews, and a confessional.

How does property crime, vandalism, blasphemy and breaking and entering constitute a claim to moral supremacy?

To say the Bible is misogynistic is complete utter horse-hockey.

This following Bible passage was revolutionary for its time:

Zelophehad’s Daughters
1 Zelophehad was the son of Hepher. Hepher was the son of Gilead. Gilead was the son of Makir. Makir was the son of Manasseh. Zelophehad’s daughters belonged to the family groups of Manasseh son of Joseph. The daughters’ names were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah and Tirzah. 2 They went to the entrance of the Meeting Tent. There they stood before Moses, Eleazar the priest, the leaders and all the people. They said, 3 “Our father died in the desert. He was not one of Korah’s followers who came against the Lord. Our father died because of his own sin. But he had no sons. 4 Our father’s name will die out because he had no sons. Give us property among our father’s relatives.”

5 So Moses brought their case to the Lord. 6 The Lord said to him, 7 “The daughters of Zelophehad are right. They should get what their father owned. Give them property among their father’s relatives.

8 “Tell the Israelites, ‘If a man dies and has no son, then everything he owned should go to his daughter. 9 If he has no daughter, then everything he owned should go to his brothers. 10 If he has no brothers, then everything he owned should go to his father’s brothers. 11 If his father had no brothers, then everything he owned should go to the nearest relative in his family group. This should be a rule among the people of Israel as the Lord has given this command to Moses.’”

Bible Gateway passage: Numbers 27 - New International Version
Bible Gateway passage: Numbers 27 - International Children’s Bible

A Samaritan woman married and divorced five times. This was considered scandalous for the time and place. This is how the Lord Jesus Christ interacted with her:

Jesus and a Samaritan Woman
1 The Pharisees heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more followers than John. 2 (But really Jesus himself did not baptize people. His followers did the baptizing.) Jesus knew that the Pharisees had heard about him. 3 So he left Judea and went back to Galilee. 4 On the way he had to go through the country of Samaria.

5 In Samaria Jesus came to the town called Sychar. This town is near the field that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 Jacob’s well was there. Jesus was tired from his long trip. So he sat down beside the well. It was about noon. 7 A Samaritan woman came to the well to get some water. Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.” 8 (This happened while Jesus’ followers were in town buying some food.)

9 The woman said, “I am surprised that you ask me for a drink. You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan.” (Jews are not friends with Samaritans.)

10 Jesus said, “You don’t know what God gives. And you don’t know who asked you for a drink. If you knew, you would have asked me, and I would have given you living water.”

11 The woman said, “Sir, where will you get that living water? The well is very deep, and you have nothing to get water with. 12 Are you greater than Jacob, our father? Jacob is the one who gave us this well. He drank from it himself. Also, his sons and flocks drank from this well.”

13 Jesus answered, “Every person who drinks this water will be thirsty again. 14 But whoever drinks the water I give will never be thirsty again. The water I give will become a spring of water flowing inside him. It will give him eternal life.”

15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water. Then I will never be thirsty again. And I will not have to come back here to get more water.”

16 Jesus told her, “Go get your husband and come back here.”

17 The woman answered, “But I have no husband.”

Jesus said to her, “You are right to say you have no husband. 18 Really you have had five husbands. But the man you live with now is not your husband. You told the truth.”

19 The woman said, “Sir, I can see that you are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain. But you Jews say that Jerusalem is the place where people must worship.”

21 Jesus said, “Believe me, woman. The time is coming when you will not have to be in Jerusalem or on this mountain to worship the Father. 22 You Samaritans worship what you don’t understand. We Jews understand what we worship. Salvation comes from the Jews. 23 The time is coming when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. That time is now here. And these are the kinds of worshipers the Father wants. 24 God is spirit. Those who worship God must worship in spirit and truth.”

25 The woman said, “I know that the Messiah is coming.” (Messiah is the One called Christ.) “When the Messiah comes, he will explain everything to us.”

26 Then Jesus said, “He is talking to you now. I am he.”

27 Just then his followers came back from town. They were surprised because they saw Jesus talking with a woman. But none of them asked, “What do you want?” or “Why are you talking with her?”

28 Then the woman left her water jar and went back to town. She said to the people, 29 “A man told me everything I have ever done. Come see him. Maybe he is the Christ!” 30 So the people left the town and went to see Jesus.

31 While the woman was away, the followers were begging him, “Teacher, eat something!”

32 But Jesus answered, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”

33 So the followers asked themselves, “Did somebody already bring Jesus some food?”

34 Jesus said, “My food is to do what the One who sent me wants me to do. My food is to finish the work that he gave me to do. 35 You say, ‘Four more months to wait before we gather the grain.’ But I tell you, open your eyes. Look at the fields that are ready for harvesting now. 36 Even now, the one who harvests the crop is being paid. He is gathering crops for eternal life. So now the one who plants can be happy along with the one who harvests. 37 It is true when we say, ‘One person plants, but another harvests the crop.’ 38 I sent you to harvest a crop that you did not work for. Others did the work, and you get the profit from their work.”

39 Many of the Samaritans in that town believed in Jesus. They believed because of what the woman said: “He told me everything I have ever done.” 40 The Samaritans came to Jesus and begged him to stay with them. So he stayed there two days. 41 Many more believed because of the things he said.

42 They said to the woman, “First we believed in Jesus because of what you told us. But now we believe because we heard him ourselves. We know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”

Bible Gateway passage: John 4 - International Children’s Bible

Back in the day, if a woman lost her husband and had no children, the husband's brother would have to impregnent the widow. This was to ensure she would have descendants, especially to take care of her in her old age. What happened here was Onan taking advantage of a woman for his own sexual gratification. This made the Lord angry and He killed Onan as a result.

When looking at anyone with lust, say to yourself, "This is someone's son/daughter."

Judah and Tamar
38 About that time, Judah left his brothers. He went to stay with a man named Hirah. Hirah was from the town of Adullam. 2 Judah met a Canaanite girl there and married her. Her father was named Shua. And Judah had intimate relations with her. 3 She became pregnant and gave birth to a son. Judah named him Er. 4 Later she gave birth to another son. She named him Onan. 5 Later she had another son. She named him Shelah. She was at Kezib when this third son was born.

6 Judah chose a girl named Tamar to be the wife of his first son Er. 7 Er was Judah’s oldest son. But he did what the Lord said was evil. So the Lord killed him. 8 Then Judah said to Er’s brother Onan, “Go and have physical relations with your dead brother’s wife. It is your duty to provide children for your brother in this way.”

9 But Onan knew that the children would not belong to him. Onan was supposed to have physical relations with Tamar. But he did not complete the physical act. This made it impossible for Tamar to become pregnant. So Er could not have descendants. 10 The Lord was displeased by this wicked thing Onan had done. So the Lord killed Onan also.

Biblical conduct towards wives:

Your New Life with Other People
18 Wives, be under the authority of your husbands. This is the right thing to do in the Lord.

19 Husbands, love your wives, and be gentle to them.

20 Children, obey your parents in all things. This pleases the Lord.

21 Fathers, do not nag your children. If you are too hard to please, they may want to stop trying.

22 Slaves, obey your masters in all things. Do not obey just when they are watching you, to gain their favor. But serve them honestly, because you respect the Lord. 23 In all the work you are doing, work the best you can. Work as if you were working for the Lord, not for men. 24 Remember that you will receive your reward from the Lord, which he promised to his people. You are serving the Lord Christ. 25 But remember that anyone who does wrong will be punished for that wrong. And the Lord treats everyone the same.

About Marriage
7 Now I will discuss the things you wrote to me about. It is good for a man not to marry. 2 But sexual immorality is a danger. So each man should have his own wife. And each woman should have her own husband. 3 The husband should give his wife all that she should have as his wife. And the wife should give her husband all that he should have as her husband. 4 The wife does not have power over her own body. Her husband has the power over her body. And the husband does not have power over his own body. His wife has the power over his body. 5 Do not refuse to give your bodies to each other. But you might both agree to stay away from intimate relations for a time. You might do this so that you can give your time to prayer. Then come together again. This is so that Satan cannot tempt you in your weakness. 6 I say this to give you permission. It is not a command. 7 I wish everyone were like me. But each person has his own gift from God. One has one gift, another has another gift.

8 Now for those who are not married and for the widows I say this: It is good for them to stay single as I am. 9 But if they cannot control their bodies, then they should marry. It is better to marry than to burn with lust.

10 Now I give this command for the married people. (The command is not from me; it is from the Lord.) A wife should not leave her husband. 11 But if she does leave, she must not marry again. Or she should go back to her husband. Also the husband should not divorce his wife.

12 For all the others I say this (I am saying this, not the Lord): A brother in Christ might have a wife who is not a believer. If she will live with him, he must not divorce her. 13 And a woman might have a husband who is not a believer. If he will live with her, she must not divorce him. 14 The husband who is not a believer is made holy through his believing wife. And the wife who is not a believer is made holy through her believing husband. If this were not true, then your children would not be clean. But now your children are holy.

15 But if the person who is not a believer decides to leave, let him leave. When this happens, the brother or sister in Christ is free. God called us to a life of peace. 16 Wives, maybe you will save your husband; and husbands, maybe you will save your wife. You do not know now what will happen later.

1 Corinthians 7:5 is also translated as "Mutual Consent" in NIV.

Bible Gateway passage: 1 Corinthians 7 - International Children’s Bible

Wives and Husbands
21 Be willing to obey each other. Do this because you respect Christ.

22 Wives, be under the authority of your husbands, as of the Lord. 23 The husband is the head of the wife, as Christ is the head of the church. The church is Christ’s body—Christ is the Savior of the body. 24 The church is under the authority of Christ. So it is the same with you wives. You should be under the authority of your husbands in everything.

25 Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church. Christ died for the church 26 to make it belong to God. Christ used the word to make the church clean by washing it with water. 27 Christ died so that he could give the church to himself like a bride in all her beauty. He died so that the church could be pure and without fault, with no evil or sin or any other wrong thing in it. 28 And husbands should love their wives in the same way. They should love their wives as they love their own bodies. The man who loves his wife loves himself. 29 No person ever hates his own body, but feeds and takes care of it. And that is what Christ does for the church, 30 because we are parts of his body. 31 The Scripture says, “So a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife. And the two people will become one body.” 32 That secret truth is very important—I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 But each one of you must love his wife as he loves himself. And a wife must respect her husband.

Bible Gateway passage: Ephesians 5 - King James Version
Bible Gateway passage: Ephesians 5 - New King James Version
Bible Gateway passage: Ephesians 5 - New International Version
Bible Gateway passage: Ephesians 5 - International Children’s Bible

...And what does Biblical love look like?

1 I may speak in different languages of men or even angels. But if I do not have love, then I am only a noisy bell or a ringing cymbal. 2 I may have the gift of prophecy; I may understand all the secret things of God and all knowledge; and I may have faith so great that I can move mountains. But even with all these things, if I do not have love, then I am nothing. 3 I may give everything I have to feed the poor. And I may even give my body as an offering to be burned. But I gain nothing by doing these things if I do not have love.

4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. 5 Love is not rude, is not selfish, and does not become angry easily. Love does not remember wrongs done against it. 6 Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices over the truth. 7 Love patiently accepts all things. It always trusts, always hopes, and always continues strong.

8 Love never ends. There are gifts of prophecy, but they will be ended. There are gifts of speaking in different languages, but those gifts will end. There is the gift of knowledge, but it will be ended. 9 These things will end, because this knowledge and these prophecies we have are not complete. 10 But when perfection comes, the things that are not complete will end. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child; I thought like a child; I made plans like a child. When I became a man, I stopped those childish ways. 12 It is the same with us. Now we see as if we are looking into a dark mirror. But at that time, in the future, we shall see clearly. Now I know only a part. But at that time I will know fully, as God has known me. 13 So these three things continue forever: faith, hope and love. And the greatest of these is love.

...And here is the most important Bible verse for everyone struggling with 'Us Vs. Them' mindsets:

28 Now, in Christ, there is no difference between Jew and Greek. There is no difference between slaves and free men. There is no difference between male and female. You are all the same in Christ Jesus.

God is perfect. Humans spreading His word, however, are NOT. NEVER blame God for what His creations do, even in His name. Wolves in sheep's clothing exist (Acts 8:9-25, 2 Corinthians 11:1-15, Galatians 1:6-10, John 16:1-15, 1 John 4:1-6, Matthew 7:13-29, 2 Peter 2, 1 Timothy 6:1-10, 2 Timothy 3, 2 Timothy 4:1-8, AND MORE!!!).

Read, study, and KNOW Scripture daily. I can imagine many, many women have become disillusioned with Christianity, because wolves in sheep's clothing misused the Bible for their own selfish ambitions.

I have learned this the hard way.

Give God the glory. Please.

That's fair. But mate, you have put in an awesome amount of work too. It's unavoidably awe inspiring to see the application of His work delivered in the way that you deliver it.

It makes ME want to study the bible more.

Again, please give God the glory (Acts 12:20-23, 2 Corinthians 10:12-18, Ephesians 2:8-9, 4:25-32, Isaiah 42:8, Psalm 150).

It makes ME want to study the bible more.

Please do. These posts were only made possible by The Holy Spirit empowering me to read, study, and know Scripture to this current level of mine (1 Corinthians 3:16-17, 6:18-20, Ephesians 4:25-32, John 14:15-31). We will spend the rest of our lives learning, and I still have much, much more to learn, let alone apply in my own life.

God bless!
