The Archdiocese of New Orleans has advised Catholics against receiving the new Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine, calling the one-dose shot “morally compromised.”

In a statement Friday, the religious organization said the new vaccine should be avoided due to its link to an “abortion-derived cell line” used in the vaccine’s development and production phases.

But the available vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna are “morally acceptable,” the archdiocese wrote, because only some lab testing utilized stem cells from aborted fetuses, making their connection to abortion “extremely remote.”

I will not take the Johnson and Johnson shot. Problem is, everything I’ve heard, you cannot pick the vaccine you want.

I agree I would not take the J&J either. It will be interesting to hear what the churcch in general has to say.

I would still try to get my shot and ask for either the Moderna or Pfizer and explain it is for religious reason. They may very well give one of either mentioned.

When it comes to your turn do some checking and networking to find out where those two vaccines are being given.

This is what my sister told me today. A spokeswoman from our local health department was interviewed on our radio station and she confirmed that people cannot choose a particular vaccine. I believe that is is not right and a grave mistake. If the government is so big on getting everyone vaccinated, they should be willing to assist people get the vaccine they prefer.

When you are eligible I strongly recommend just calling places that give it out and asking which of the vaccines they are distributing and if they will sign you up. I live in a bureaucratic state and this way has worked quite well.

You cannot choose. And every reputable medical source says get the first shot available. They’re virtually identical.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops is urging people to seek alternatives to coronavirus vaccine produced by Janssen, a company of Johnson & Johnson, arguing that the product raises additional moral concerns through its connection to aborted fetal cells.

In a press release Tuesday, Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades said that people should instead take Pfizer's or Moderna's vaccines if possible.

"f one can choose among equally safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines, the vaccine with the least connection to abortion-derived cell lines should be chosen," the statement from Rhoades reads.

"Therefore, if one has the ability to choose a vaccine, Pfizer or Moderna’s vaccines should be chosen over Johnson & Johnson’s."

Looks like Germans are not interested in the Astra Zeneca in large numbers.
This video asks Germans and most say no and would prefer the Pfizer or Moderna.

Of course the media mouth piece attempts to label those as opposed as vaccine snobs.

I loved this comment that sums up the media.

They dont explain anything anymore. the media is lazy. theyre incompetent. never asking questions that normal ppl would ask. dig a bit. find out why. explain, investigate, journalism a bit more, my gosh. pathetic and useless.
