Well, I had it straight across as a child, but my hair was a bit thicker then. I think layers is probably more appropriate for my hair type, seeing as it's so fine. Right now it's all the same length. Is it possible to have layered bangs and the rest just be all the same length?

Yeah they can. Look on Vidal Sassoon under the collections and see if you find one you like. That's classic and most stylists can recreate it.

How long do you want it?

I like her bangs. It looks more mature.

@DragonFox91 This is how it looks.
That's pretty fancy. He will like it when he sees it.

I should've known it wouldn't have been something plain.

If I were to try a tennis group, it'd have to be super-casual. My best bet would be a golf group, but I have times where I'm really bad, so not sure that'd be best either. I've been part of running groups in the past, so that could be an option. I've been getting off running, tho. It's not typically 'fun', LOL, & I don't want to lose weight. Although 5Ks are really fun.

Volleyball, softball definitely NOT. I'm horrible at those.

So options: golf, tennis, running. & I guess biking too.

Thank you. Purchasing a corset was on my to-do list for years. I’m revamping my wardrobe and emphasizing retro femininity. Defined shapes. Skirts, dresses, and heels. Classic accessories like gloves and hats. And vintage makeup. Basically my avatars. :)

I saw this earlier...

I’d look at them this way:
  • To learn: Tennis
  • For fun: Cycling
  • To compete: Golf
All three are social. You can join a tennis or country club and cover two. Cycling has mini rides and lots of social events. Your local bike shop may have details.

I’d focus on activities where grabbing a drink or meal afterwards is commonplace. A club provides the setting and showers. And that’s the best place to find a job if you’re looking. You may be playing with someone who has an opening or knows of one.

There's a bikestore down the street I go to. I can ask them this weekend if they're aware of any cycling groups that are for fun. As I was saying once, I know of one group but they're a little more extreme then what I'd be looking for. I want something casual, fun, & social. Where you're riding for the sake of it & not for sport. (that'd be kind of the goal of any of these. I just like exercising, having fun, & enjoying the weather)

Tennis....not sure. There's city flyers that come out in the mail, I'm sure you're aware of these things. For tennis they seem to have just stuff for kids.

Golf.....definitely can ask the courses I go to. I'm still nervous, I still don't think my ability is where it should be, so it'd still have to be something more for fun. They might be able to recommend one for my skill level. I'm definitely not a beginner, but I'm not 'good' either. I lack the consistency hole-to-hole to be 'good'.

You may find some on here too.

We have private tennis clubs. But since you like golf a country club makes sense. You’ll have course access, lessons, and other activities. They make an effort to get members acclimated. Most are family friendly and they have social events around the year. Look for places with tennis courts to get more bang for your buck.

I'm definitely not a beginner, but I'm not 'good' either. I lack the consistency hole-to-hole to be 'good'.

That’s just a matter of time and practice. Treat yourself to lessons and clinics to improve your game. The more you have fun and boost your confidence the more you’ll improve your mood.

So how's everyone on their taxes? All done?

I usually don't do mine until week before they're due basically, but I'm almost done. I'm way ahead of my usual schedule for it.

So this is a newer look for you. Interesting.

I need to revamp mine too. I was at the mall shopping for jeans this past weekend & saw many other pieces that looked really good.

I did them last weekend.

So this is a newer look for you. Interesting.

The Lord provided parameters for my appearance. His aesthetic for me is ultra feminine. Going the extra mile as a norm is counter cultural. Many make an effort when they go outside or to work. But less so at home.

His directive is personally edifying. When you’re part of an industry devoted to physical beauty there’s a lot of excess and extremes. Having spiritual guidance is a must. There’s a practical side too. Temptation abounds. You need to be attentive and mindful of your companion’s needs.

The same holds true for others. Most people make the greatest effort for work or events. Your boss and co-workers see you at your best. But what about your spouse? Many don’t give it a second thought. I like to ask. You gain a lot of insight on their tastes. What would you like me to wear at home yields interesting feedback.

It ain’t leggings. ;)

Your style sounds preppy based on what you’ve shared thus far. What are you adding?

Mine are already done. I woke up early one day and randomly felt compelled do my taxes. Maybe I had a dream that the IRS was after me.

Not sure why I got a "prayers" response. The IRS bit was a joke. :p

Do you work as an artist? This sort of thing is so hard. I've been there many times, not knowing whether to quit or not. I've learned it's usually best to find a new job before quitting the old one, though not always easier this way.

EDIT: are we even allowed to double and triple post? I can't recall reading anything in the rules about it. But I've been doing it a lot lately and I hope it's not against the forum rules.
Yes I work as an artist. It's definitely difficult, but I have to keep trying at least for now. All the available jobs I've seen were related to 3D modelling and animation, which I'm not experienced at, but I'll have to keep looking.

I think it's okay to make multiple posts in a row as long as it's not spam.

Not sure if any of that makes sense but okay...

And for the bolded: They don't?

Nothing wrong w/ leggings. There's a reason it's 90% of what you see women wearing, but IMO they're too trendy at this point.

No way. My current style isn't really a style & that's the problem. It's mostly just t-shirts & shorts/jeans. When it's not that, it's just simple golf shirts. I want to start getting preppy, tho. I'll have to look at styles, how to do it right.

They don't?

Many expend the greatest effort during courtship and cool off later. That’s true for both.

I don’t wear them outside. They’re fine for workouts or around the house. I draw the line at sweatpants. No way!

Ralph Lauren is classic American. You’ve got Lacoste, Vineyard Vines, and Brook Brothers. The preppy look is relaxed and unhurried. Beach and sailing themes are common. It celebrates leisure and WASP culture.

I LOVE this look on men. Prep works for all sizes and ages. Take up rowing and sailing while you’re at it. :D

I will look into these.

Yes, the second pic is my current look basically. That's kind of my build too. Kind of boring, eh? The first pic's really cool, but seems too dressed up to me. Maybe he's just wearing it that well.

I need to find something that isn't so 'boring' but doesn't seem too dressed up either. IDK, maybe it's just me & the first pic isn't really that dressed up.

I don’t own any. They made a comeback last year due to lockdowns.

The second one isn’t boring. Better material and a closer fit looks good. Wear colors that flatter. Add highlights to your hair. Stylish shoes and accessories. You can look pulled together. :)

That’s a sporting look. For golf you’d think of Hogan or Payne Stewart. Or the English country look. It demonstrates the ability to dress it down or up. You’ll find the mood that fits.

Mix things up. Get cashmere and merino polos. That adds punch without overkill. Linen is always good. It adds relaxed flair.

Keep in mind there’s two divisions of prep. Eastern and southern. Eastern is more subdued. Darker hues are the norm and coastal colors. The southern look is light and bright. Lots of white and pastels.

The queen of eastern prep is Blair Waldorf. If you watched Gossip Girls you know the look. The queen of the south is Lily Pulitzer. Jackie-O made her famous.

Yes, that’s Pulitzer as in the Pulitzer Prize.

Here’s a few examples of preppy girls. :D
