Numbers 18:1 Then the Lord said to Aaron: You and your sons and your father’s
house with you shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary, and you and your sons
with you shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.
Is there a way of understanding this verse so as to apply
this responsibility to the church, as a holy priesthood?
1 Peter 2:
5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house,
a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God
through Jesus Christ.
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who
called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
Hebrews 7:
11 Therefore, if perfection were through the Levitical priesthood
(for under it the people received the law), what further need that another
priest should rise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be called
according to the order of Aaron?
14 For it is evident that our Lord arose from Judah, of which tribe Moses
spoke nothing concerning priesthood.
Psalm 114:
1 When Israel went out of Egypt,
The house of Jacob from a people of strange language,
2 Judah became His sanctuary,
Israel His dominion.
