'These babies were literally placed into the fridge alive and then stored between one and 24 hours until they could be dismembered.'

February 19, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – Cell lines derived from aborted babies used in the production or testing of various vaccines, including a number of COVID vaccines, most likely came from babies who were aborted alive, and according to the general practice as outlined in medical literature, may have been placed in a fridge while still living where they awaited dismemberment before having their organs harvested, a researcher has found.

Biologist Pamela Acker, who has a master’s degree in Biology from the Catholic University of America and who recently authored a book titled Vaccination: A Catholic Perspective, related what the literature says about how babies were aborted to obtain cell lines used in a number of vaccines.

“A number of these abortions that were done in that way were termed ‘abdominal hysterectomies’ in the medical literature. So in some cases, the women were actually being sterilized in the process as well,” she said.

“They had to maintain a sterile environment because you don't want any contamination of the tissue with any kind of foreign agents, any bacteria, or viruses, or anything like that. The babies were — and, in some cases, the uterus as well — removed from the woman and, without even puncturing the amniotic sac, placed directly into the refrigerator where it was kept for no more than 24 hours.”

“So these babies were literally placed into the fridge alive and then stored between one and 24 hours until they could be dismembered, basically. And this is right there in the scientific literature,” she said.

Considering the number and size of Catholic hospitals and Catholic medical schools, it should be possible to do moral vaccines. There is a substantial market. If they're not Catholic in name only.

That article from life site...has no corroboration and is actually completely inaccurate as far as how the science would work.

I haven't gone to the work or the doctor they're quoting... But I would be surprised if it's accurate.

Lifesite has been really losing any editorial standard in the last 2 years. Which is sad because it used to be the go-to site.

From Bishop Schneider:
While Schneider would certainly acknowledge that there is no formal cooperation (that is, a willing participation) on the part of a vaccine recipient in an abortion from which was procured a cell line to make vaccines, he also holds that Christians cannot “simply resign” themselves to the fact that the production of various medicines is tied to the slaughter of preborn babies who are utilized for their body parts.
Bp. Schneider calls for ‘new pro-life movement’ to protest ‘abortion-tainted’ medicines like COVID vaccine

Isn’t that what we are doing when you get right down to it? Resigning ourselves to accepting the use of aborted children for our betterment?

Is the Catholic News Service an accurate source?

Thank you for posting that. However, we’ll see what unfolds. It seems to change daily and quite frankly I’m tired of the Catholic doublespeak the hierarchy is so well known for. But the info you posted does provide some comfort while taking our loved ones to get their vaccinations. How even remotely though, it still seems to include abortion. I really wonder where the line is drawn at times.

Neither Pfizer nor Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine involves cells derived from aborted fetal tissue since mRNA development is a different technology. This was confirmed by UAB News, the news website for the University of Alabama-Birmingham.

"Neither the Pfizer nor the Moderna vaccine uses cell lines that originated in fetal tissue taken from the body of an aborted baby at any stage of design, development or production," UAB's Sherri Blank reported.

Some of the vaccines in the pipeline do.

Vaccines work use a weakened version of a disease, grown in laboratory cell lines, in order to inoculate someone against the disease. With some common vaccines, such as those used to fight chicken pox and measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR), the cell lines of babies who were aborted decades ago are used to grow the weakened diseases.

This is also reportedly the case with some coronavirus vaccines in development, such as one worked on by the University of Oxford and Astrazeneca, which relies on the HEK-239 cell lines from a baby aborted in the Netherlands in the 1970s

I took the Pfizer vaccine.

Pfizer has said its mRNA vaccine candidate does not contain foetal cell lines.

The confirmation comes following a statement by Irish Catholic Bishops yesterday.

It questioned the use of human foetal cell-lines with origins in abortions, being used in the development and production of some vaccines for Covid-19.

Foetal cell lines were used to create vaccines for diseases such as hepatitis A, rubella, and rabies.

Most vaccines currently available were developed using cell strains cultured from two foetuses that were aborted for other purposes in the US during the 1960s.

The bishops said it was morally permissible for Catholics to accept vaccines with foetal cell lines, especially if the potential risk to life or health is significant or if a more ethically acceptable alternative is not readily available.

However, Pfizer, which rolled out its vaccine in the UK this week and is likely to be the first vaccine used in the EU, says it does not contain any such cells.

A spokesperson confirmed that it is a synthetic pharmaceutical product

I took the Pfizer vaccine.
I was under the impression that both Pfizer and Moderna used fetal cell lines in the research and development phase, though neither used those cells in the production of the vaccines. It sounds like they're using weasel terms to make it sound like no aborted fetuses were used, because if you look at the wording carefully, it says nothing about the research, which is where the problem would be.
