Demons believe. So what is your point?
We are set free from the law of sin and death by the indwelling Spirit in the New Covenant – after Lord Jesus appeared to provide salvation.
This regeneration by the indwelling Spirit is ours by faith demonstrated by walking, not after the flesh, but after the Spirit that indwells the believer.
Romans 8:1-4 (WEB)
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the
Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death. 3 For what the law couldn’t do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh; 4 that the
ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
We are made alive or given life in the Spirit only if the Spirit of Christ dwells in us. If His Spirit is not in us, we do not belong to Jesus and are still dead in sin.
Romans 8:9-10 (WEB)
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the
Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his. 10
If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
We are to live, walk, and sow to the Spirit of Christ in us for the indwelling Spirit to lead us to Spiritual life.
Galatians 5:13-25 (WEB)
13 For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only do not use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another. 14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” [Leviticus 19:18] 15 But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you do not consume one another.
16
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire. 18 But
if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which
I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
24
Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.
25
If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
To reap eternal life, we are to sow to the Spirit without ceasing.
Galatians 6:7-9 (WEB)
7 Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also
reap. 8 For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh
reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit
reap eternal life. 9
Let us not be weary in doing good, for
we will
reap in due season,
if we do not give up.
As Christians, we are obligated to put to death the deeds of the body, and put on the new man by the Spirit of Christ in us to have life.
Romans 8:12-13 (WEB) 12 So then,
brothers and sisters, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
Ephesians 4:20-24 (WEB) 20 But you didn’t learn Christ that way, 21 if indeed you heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit, 23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.
