“All whom My Father gives (entrusts) to Me will come to Me; and the one who comes to Me I will most certainly not cast out [I will never, no never, reject one of them who comes to Me].” John 6:37 (AMP)

Who does the Father give to the Son?
What is God's will in this matter?

According to Scripture, who does God will to give to the Son?

John 6:40 (NIV) 40 For (‘because’ or ‘the reason being that’) my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”

God gives to the Son those who will believe in His Son. That is the Gospel.

Cain could have had faith to, according to God, but Cain refused.

Genesis 4:2-6 (WEB)
2 Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. 3 In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord. 4 And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.
6 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”
If Cain had faith, his offering would have matched Abel's. Whatever is not of faith is sin. Faith is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.

The "faith" mentioned as one of the fruits of the Spirit cannot be the faith to be saved, because the fruits of the Spirit are only the possession of those who believe.

You cannot believe apart from the Holy Spirit.

One can believe without the Spirit according to James 2:19. However, one cannot have life-saving faith without the Holy Spirit.

You cannot believe apart from the Holy Spirit.

That is true, however, we are regenerated (made alive, pass from death to life, raised with Christ) by faith in Jesus.

John 7:37-39 (WEB)
37 Now on the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink! 38 He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus wasn’t yet glorified.

John 4:13-14 (WEB)
13 Jesus answered her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst again; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”

John 5:24 (WEB) 24 “Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and doesn’t come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

Colossians 2:12 (WEB) 12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

Galatians 3:21-22 (WEB) For if there had been a law given which could make alive, most certainly righteousness would have been of the law. 22 But the Scripture imprisoned all things under sin so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe

You just said one cannot believe without the Holy Spirit...are you saying that demons have the Holy Spirit?

Demons believe. So what is your point?

We are set free from the law of sin and death by the indwelling Spirit in the New Covenant – after Lord Jesus appeared to provide salvation.

This regeneration by the indwelling Spirit is ours by faith demonstrated by walking, not after the flesh, but after the Spirit that indwells the believer.

Romans 8:1-4 (WEB)
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death. 3 For what the law couldn’t do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh; 4 that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

We are made alive or given life in the Spirit only if the Spirit of Christ dwells in us. If His Spirit is not in us, we do not belong to Jesus and are still dead in sin.

Romans 8:9-10 (WEB)
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his. 10 If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

We are to live, walk, and sow to the Spirit of Christ in us for the indwelling Spirit to lead us to Spiritual life.

Galatians 5:13-25 (WEB)
13 For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only do not use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another. 14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” [Leviticus 19:18] 15 But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you do not consume one another.
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
24 Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.
25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

To reap eternal life, we are to sow to the Spirit without ceasing.

Galatians 6:7-9 (WEB)
7 Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up.

As Christians, we are obligated to put to death the deeds of the body, and put on the new man by the Spirit of Christ in us to have life.

Romans 8:12-13 (WEB) 12 So then, brothers and sisters, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

Ephesians 4:20-24 (WEB) 20 But you didn’t learn Christ that way, 21 if indeed you heard him, and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit, 23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.

Saving faith is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.

Not according to the Scriptures.

Only believers manifest the fruits of the Spirit.

We only receive the Spirit, and the life the Spirit gives, by faith demonstrated by living by the Spirit we receive.

People cannot discern the true Christ any more than the Pharisees did. What did Jesus say to Peter?

“He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 16:15–17 (KJV 1900)
