And so, the purpose of the thread was to point out these words of Paul, to exhort and encourage all
to continue to "press on". Be blessed.

You still worded it wrong, we don't attain Christ, we gain Christ, not through our effort, but through His.

My argument stands. The wording is wrong.

The only thing I agree with is that we are called to a purpose and need to work to accomplish that purpose to which we are called, for His Glory.

But that is a desire He puts in us in the first place. It's not something we can manufacture in and of ourselves.

Fine. The wording is Paul's. I am not arguing.

It's not Paul's wording. You've taken Paul's wording from one context and misapplied it in a different context.

You've taken Paul's wording when he said "I've not attained perfection" and applied to "have you attained Christ?" When that's not Paul's wording at all...

You still worded it wrong, we don't attain Christ, we gain Christ, not through our effort, but through His.

Philippians 3:
8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord,
for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ.

12. Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on,
that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise,
God will reveal even this to you.
16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule,
let us be of the same mind.

Galatians 4:19 My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you.

and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law,
but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings,
being conformed to His death,
11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead
12
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that

13
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting
those things which are behind
and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

And

1 Corinthians 12:13
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Galatians 3:27
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
