Is one willing to die rather then sin?

The answer to this question will determine if one is set free from sin or not...

For the heart that is, is a heart ready to give up all of itself... Nothing else will do, no amount of will power will work to overcome sin... It might for a week or two, sometimes even a month or more but sin will have mastery again because one is sold into sin...

Even the born again Christian who loves God will still be in slaved to sin if one does not see what the foundation of the faith is...

Which is being made free from sin by faith...

This faith towards God is the all of our salvation in Christ... All things come from God on the basis of the faith of the heart turned towards Him...

Try as one might and try as one will until one is so desperate to be freed from sin, which is just another way of saying being made free from their own will to sin... Or their own desire to sin.. Until one is so desperate that they would willingly rather die then sin, freedom from sin will be an elusive thing...

But wanting it is the first step and as this desire grows to fever pitch one will be more and more willing to see that only their death will free them from their will to sin...

As this frustration grows one is getting closer to entering into the rest of God... Where they are willing to accept God’s salvation on His terms...

Which is simply believing that when Christ died on the cross He took them to death with Him..

This can not but be the end game because one will not give up themselves to God until they see the absolute need of it... But once seen, tasted and experienced, joy abounds, tribulations, trials, not getting one’s way or what one wants becomes a nothing, only serving God by faith becomes the all of the heart and life... For one’s death does bring freedom from sin, but one will not believe it even exists, till it is tasted by experience.. But once tasted, it becomes the all of one’s existence...

Be blessed all as we strive to work out our own salvation and enter into the rest from our own works to faith in God...

Thank you for sharing notme.

You are right, the desire will come from the heart towards God to really lay down their own life of what they may have use to do in the past and looking at ways from their own perception, and they will inherit a new perception which is of that comes from God -- after chastening the one who has repented and started look towards the Light of the Lord Jesus Christ, and all that he had done for all man-kind.

You shared the truth of the matter if one repented yet still can not see the foundation yet it could take time, if they do not stray away, or get enticed again by the world and what it does, and instead look towards heavenly things rather than earthly things. All of that will be from the desire in the individuals heart, and they willingly would die to their old life style and live for Christ Jesus.

When once was a child of God, I still sought after most of the worldly things and it had to offer though thoughts of God still lingered in the mind and the heart of my soul. Still doing drugs, but believing, still doing inappropriate contentography but believing everything would be okay. Guilt became greater then asking God to help me with those things along with not to hate others, and not to be jealous of others. God by the spirit delivered me from those things that disabled me to able to really be fruitful for Christ. It had to be a decision made by me to ask God to help me to stop those things that were destroying my life.

Has this made me perfect? In a sense am more spiritually aware and conscious of reflecting on my past life, and the new life that Christ Jesus is living through me allowing to be mature, however no; never shall I be perfect like He was.

People are born into a sinful condition just as fish are born into water.
None are dry, no not one.
To understand Jesus is to know that only God's forgiveness allows any person to gain salvation.
There is nothing to work out in this life. Only to accept forgiveness in Faith through Jesus.

Psalm 51:5
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Isaiah 64:6
We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

1 John 1:8-10
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Ecclesiastes 7:20
Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.

James 2:10
For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it.

It does sound like someone is in the School of Christ... Be blessed as He takes you through all of the steps.. Fear not only trust His love for you, and your relationship with will teach you all things...And you will get your ‘well done’ and joy will fill your heart..

As we are blessed as we learn Christ...

We will never be done with sin. Where the Pharisees had a problem in their thoughts so do we. We are freed from the consequences by Jesus sacrifice.

As true as it is, that that which can keep for one day, can keep for two....To the end that one can be freer today than yesterday and freer tomorrow still...

Be blessed in your relationship with Him....

Yes yes always better always more. I make every mistake in the book.

A heart that is after Christ is a heart that will get their ‘well done’... Be blessed in the truth that ‘he that has died is freed from sin’...
