But if he was buried late in the day on Friday he would have risen late in the day on Monday. Jesus made it absolutely clear that he would be in the 'grave' for 72 hours.

There is no biblical evidence of Sunday being consecrated as "The Lord's Day", or for any special purpose for that matter.

The Lord's Day, or Day of the Lord, is when Christ returns, and brings 'smoke' (hurts people and breaks stuff).
I have a theory that because Christian worship was so incompatible with Jewish worship they would have been forced out of the synogogs and would have been forced not to do anything that would violate the Jewish concept of the sabbath. Hence the only time permitted to celebrate freely as Christians would have been the Sunday which also gave them an out from having to be involved in other pagan worship rituals.

God said His Sabbath is a sign between Him and His people and it is a perpetual covenant
“His people” in all the verses you quoted are the biological descendants of Jacob/Israel that entered into the Mosaic Covenant on Mount Sinai.

If you wish to keep the Law, then you must keep all 613 laws. Break even one and you are guilty of them all.

I trust that you are not wearing blended fabrics or cutting your hair!

Of course scripture came from the Jews (except maybe the part that Luke wrote, but that is debated).

The specific Covenant that you are quoting (Exodus and Deuteronomy) was between God and the dependents of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I am not a descendent of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob ... so that covenant was not made with my fathers nor with me. I have no promise of land in the Middle East, I have no prohibition on shaving.

Jesus came to institute a better Covenant based on better promises. A covenant available to Jews and Gentiles alike. I am saved by the grace of God into the New Covenant.

This is not rocket science. You should know whether you are a descendent of Jacob/Israel or not. You should know if your ancestors were led out of Egypt and into the promised land or not. You should know if you trust in the Law of Moses and your birthright, or if you trust in the Blood of Christ and grace of God ... for your Salvation.

Then we have the scriptures, that tell us that in the new covenant God's ISRAEL are no longer those of the flesh but all those in the Spirit who believe and follow God's Word (scripture support). If we are not a part of God's ISRAEL then we have no part in Gods new covenant promise as now we are all one in Christ and Gentile believers are now grafted in *Romans 11:13-27. All of God's 10 commandments are repeated in the new covenant scriptures (scripture support). Their purpose is to give us the knowledge of good (moral right doing) and evil (moral wrong doing); sin and righteousness *Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4; Psalms 119:172 and to lead us to Christ that we might be forgiven through faith *Galatians 3:22-25 so that we can be made free to walk in God's Spirit *Romans 8:1-4; Galatians 5:16. James says if we break anyone of God's 10 commandments we stand guilty before God of sin in James 2:10-11. This includes Gods 4th commandment of the 10 commandments which give us the knowledge of what sin is when broken. There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says God's 4th commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a holy day of rest. This is a man-made teaching and traditions that has led the many to either knowingly or unknowingly break God's 4th commandment. Jesus tells us in Matthew 15:3-9 that if we knowingly follow man-made teachings and traditions that break God's commandments we are not worshiping God. Of course the question then is raised who do we believe and follow; God or man?

So by your philosophy there is no law and we are free to sin? It’s okay to vain His name or lie and you think that is okay in Gods eyes? What’s the point of the Bible than if it is one free for all?

The 7th day Sabbath is the only one that is called "The Holy Day of the Lord" in the Bible. Isaiah 58:13

That is never said of "week day 1" or what the Bible calls "the first day" of the week.

"Jesus" is now the Sabath. There are no particular days now. .

Interesting idea. .. is there a Bible text that actually says that.?

In Acts 18:4 They gathered for gospel preaching in the synagogues "every Sabbath" -- is that part of the Bible in error?

Jesus died Friday and rose Sunday:

Agreed.

[Luke 24:1, 13, 18-25 NASB]
1 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. ...
13 And behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem. ...

agreed.

Q8. Is the whole of the Bible your word...or just some of it?

A8. All of it. Acts of the Apostles 20:7.

All of it.

Even that one time in Acts 20 where before planning for a trip all day Sunday - the night of Saturday evening (which is the start of the first day of the week in the Bible) for a farewell meeting to hear some last words from Paul.

Acts 20
6 We sailed from Philippi after the days of Unleavened Bread, and came to them at Troas within five days; and there we stayed seven days. 7 On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul began talking to them, intending to leave the next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight.

By contrast to the one meeting on week-day-1 (still called week-day-1 in that text... not "The Lord's Day" by the way) -- we have "every Sabbath" in Acts 18:4 for gospel preaching to both Jews and gentiles in the synagogue.

I have read the verses that speak of the time period, between the death and resurrection. There are three possibilities; in three days, on the third day, and after three days.

Please do not state, "72 hours", when the accounts vary so much.

1 Corinthians 15:4
And that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

Raised on the third day and not after the third day!

The 8th day ( Sunday) is the day of resurrection .

No Gospel account says that on the 8th day Jesus was raised from the dead. Nor does any NT author make that statement.

the people "introducing the day" as a new holy day are the ones most likely to mention it ...

1) Because Jesus rose from the Dead on Sunday as testified by the early Church.

If by "early church" you mean "New Testament writers" -- then .. agreed.

2) Because of the 8th day Typology in the Bible and its significance to the Church.

Not mentioned even once by any NT writer. And they most certainly would be in a position to bring it up.

Show me where He said in EXACTLY 72 hours I will rise? He didn't. He said on the 3rd day and in 3 days. We know exactly when He died and when He rose by what the witnesses on the road to Emmaus said...

Not sure what you wrote...but the Sabbath will never be on the 1st day nor the 1st day ever be the Sabbath.

Jesus died Friday and rose Sunday:

[Luke 24:1, 13, 18-25 NASB]
1 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. ...
13 And behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem. ...
18 One [of them,] named Cleopas, answered and said to Him, "Are You the only one visiting Jerusalem and unaware of the things which have happened here in these days?" 19 And He said to them, "What things?" And they said to Him, "The things about Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word in the sight of God and all the people, 20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to the sentence of death, and crucified Him. 21 "But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, it is the third day since these things happened. 22 "But also some women among us amazed us. When they were at the tomb early in the morning, 23 and did not find His body, they came, saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said that He was alive. 24 "Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just exactly as the women also had said; but Him they did not see." 25 And He said to them, "O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!

Friday: Jesus was tried, crucified and buried before sunset (the start of Sabbath)
Saturday: Sabbath, the women unable to finish anointing the corpse.
Sunday: First day of the week. The third day since Jesus was arrested, tried and crucified. Women return to the tomb with spices and find it empty. Apostles visit tomb and find it empty. Jesus appears to disciples on road to Emmaus.

See the story of Queen Esther calling for prayer for another example of three days including part of a day rather than a full 72 hours.

There is no biblical support for Jonah being in the belly of the fish for only one and one half days. Jesus also described a day as having 24 hours; 12 hours of daylight, 12 hours of darkness. Three days and three nights is the time frame of the event.
