We've had snow over the last few days with some beautiful sunshine as well, making it very pretty to look at but a bit slippery underfoot. Very cold tonight, -5C I think. Looks sparkly outside :), but is a bit cold indoors despite the heating - a problem with solid wall houses.

In the western Mohawk Valley of New York State.the weather this February has been cold with temperatures below normal. This is expected to continue. There are several inches of snow on the ground and some of the snow banks are quite high.

We had the coldest night of the winter season Feb 13 at Griffiss Station in Upstate New York with a low temperature of -9 F {-23C}. Ely Minnesota was -50 F{-46C} Record breaking low temperatures over much of the country. Severe ice storms in the South from Texas to Mississippi.

A Siberian airmass is over northwestern Europe. Braemar Scotland is experiencing its coldest February since 1955 and recently recorded a low temperature of -23C (-9F}.

The Canadian arctic however has been warm per historical standards.

Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected. Two rounds of snow are expected today into Tuesday morning across portions of southern Ontario. The first one is expected this morning into early this afternoon with 5 cm of snow possible. Snow squall activity is possible near Georgian Bay which may result in higher amounts near 10 cm. The snow may become light during the afternoon, however another round of heavier snow will move in this evening and persist into Tuesday morning. An additional 15 to 20 cm is likely.

It was 82 today, unbelievable!

Sounds like Miami; that's way too hot for me!

It's 20F. here. The report says it feels like 13F. But my indoor temp. is 73. Only an additional inch of snow tonight. Tonight's low will be 9F. Tomorrow's high will be 19 and tomorrow night it will be 4.

Neighbors have been shoveling for me! We had six inches not too long ago and it hasn't been warm enough to melt. It's hard for me to shovel, but I try. The last time the neighbors did it they used a snow blower; I saw the tracks.

This afternoon I called my youngest to get some extra help. I can't lift 40 lbs of salt to fill the water softener, but she can. The softener is in the basement. I needed a light bulb changed over the stairs. She did that. She got the snow away from the wood trim around a door. My porch posts and wood trim are rotting at their bases. I had done some of the shoveling but my toes were freezing inside my boots. There's a bit of snow on the driveway now.

I feel sorry for the Texans.:(

We are in the 60's which is the norm for us.
I am sorry about yours and others plight. Some may die in their homes as they are stuck with no way out, no electric, no food, and no way to get it. Some homes are flooding along with everything else. TERRIBLE. What can we do?
We had a poster yesterday saying these very things with children to feed and no food or warmth. I didn't know what to tell her and she didn't answer my reply. They should have the troopers going door to door. PEOPLE ARE COLD AND HUNGRY.
Take care, I am glad your neighbors are helping you!
God bless you

Sixties are VERY nice, IMO!

I'm blessed for sure.

God bless and protect the cold and hungry. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Potentially damaging winds tonight and Monday. Strong west to northwesterly winds gusting up to 90 km/h are forecast to develop this evening along the shores of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. Winds will likely diminish slightly Monday morning but will strengthen again Monday afternoon. Gusts up to 90 km/h will be possible Monday afternoon. The winds are forecast to diminish Monday evening. Power outages are possible. ### Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
