I became a Christian in year 11 of high school. At the time – the early ‘90s – the typical response from my non-Christian friends was a shrug of the shoulders and a half-sincere ‘good for you’. Sure, I felt some teenage angst about being different. But opposition? Hardly any.

After high school, I joined the army. Here I experienced a little more pressure for my faith. My Christian views on sex were often mocked, and became fodder for endless jokes and banter. But the banter was mostly good-natured, done by fellow soldiers who couldn’t understand why sex is only designed for marriage.

Fast forward to 2010.

Then in my early 30’s, I step onto a university campus fresh out of Bible College, as a campus chaplain. Before the year is even underway, I find myself verbally attacked by a gay rights activist, who sees my orthodox Christian sexual ethics as bigoted and hateful. (He even tried to have me kicked off campus).

Makes sense.

The comment re: social media was in line with my thoughts. God's establishment of borders and languages was grace for humanity's protection. As the same sex marriage issues are not simply a marriage issue, but a march towards the abolition of God's creation of kinds (which is much more clear today than just 5-10 years ago), the apps to erase language barriers, and the efforts to effectively erase borders are just more of the same - to abolish what God has created & established for our own good while under sin & death.

It's really something to watch.

It has always been the latter - people have just failed to see it.
I don't know about that.
I remember back in the 50's and 60's beliefs were very different.
No one contested crosses being in public bldgs...
We said the pledge of allegiance before classes began.
The nature of man has not changed....
and kids still gave grief to each other;
but they didn't kill each other as they do nowadays.
Every so often we hear of a "child gang" that killed another child.
The one that comes to mind just off-hand is the boy that died because
some other boys had put stones in his throat.

The black sheep stuck out in a crowd.
Today the white sheep sticks out....

Christians are made fun of in movies...
Crosses offend some so they cannot be displayed...
The 10 commandments are removed from public bldgs that had
them etched in stone at the entrance....nativity scenes are forbidden
on public property...
etc.

I believe your describing man's nature...
and I'm describing its manifestation.

Stand fast saint. Praying for you.
Seems the advocates of "tolerance" do not practice what they preach.
Your story is close to mine. I was saved in 11th grade, but in 1971. Teens were less than willing to accept it. This was the Jesus movement era. After HS I went into the Air Force during the VN war. Again, unless you were a drinker and partier you were often left out of those social occasions. I even had a meeting with my first sergeant about it. He was very supportive, and I decided against re-upping.
The Lord is good.

The Body of Christ stands in the way of the New World Order.
We can look for the persecution and attacks to continue and intensify, as the NWO continues to push forward with its agenda.
... but a lukewarm, compromising church is no threat to it at all.
