Hi everyone, so I don't really know where to go with this but I feel I need some support or clarity. My girlfriend suffers from a mental condition called dissociation and after her recent counseling session, her feelings of love towards me seem to have been forgotten. This has caused me immense pain in my heart and I don't know what to do . Will my girlfriend regain her feelings, or is there something I have to do? Can anyone help me? I'm in so much pain, but I love her so much

Disassociation means there's more than one person in there.

You kind of have to be sensitive to when she "transitions"

If she doesn't remember you, it means that the personality currently in the driver's seat hasn't met you yet.

Really? is there a way they can switch back or do I just have to bond with this new personality? Thank you so much for responding

I don't think people diagnosed with disassociation have control over which personality is in control at any given moment, so bonding with all of the personalities is recommended.

Yes.

If all of them love you, it might cause another reaction later on.

Just remain sensitive to the transitions and any integration that may occur.

Ok, thank you. In the past she has tole me that some of them don't like me, but after her session about 2,000 alters were resolved. So maybe this is a new chance for me to get on good terms with them

I’m not a mental health expert but my friend knows a lot and worked with clients with that issue.

@cara-mia Can you chime in please?

You should also attend counseling so you know how to react and move forward with her.
Yeah, I was thinking that would be a good idea, cause I want to be able to support her best I can
