Backtracking this quickly on your previous post. Why am I not surprised?
Funny how the story is acceptable without any verification, must have something to do with the reader.

If the article has any truth it would seem that he did not do anything suggested in the article.
No, he didn’t. But do you think he was influenced by these conspiracy theorists? Do you think he entertained their theories about election fraud?

It is the responsibility of journalism to validate their sources, it is not the responsibility of the reader to prove the story is false.
I'm guessing their sources are validated. However validated is different then revealed which is what you are claiming they need to do in order to have credibility. I disagree. I find their reports credible and see no reason to discount them simply because they are not naming who told them.

I think that there is doubt about the accuracy of the article, so speculating on something that is not an established fact would be foolish.

Did you feel the same way about the numerous inaccurate and false stories about Russian collusion? Public confidence in the media is very low, there are valid reasons for that.

I mean completely separate from the article - do you think Powell and Flynn were influencing Trump with their conspiracy theories?

Trump believes what he wants to... so most likely, yes. In addition, I remember that he frequently would parrot favorable conspiracy theories throughout his presidency.

By that standard, we shouldn't believe anything in the Bible either, since it's all (or mostly) second-hand in nature, with frequently anonymous, or even misrepresented, sources.

Not so, there were people still alive when the Gospel was being preached who could have and would have disclosed any and all untruths.

No part of the Bible was written down until the end of the 1st century, decades after most of the disciples had died.

Also wrong. John was the last Gospel it was written around 90 AD, Paul's epistles were written around 52-57 AD.

The posts claiming they have evidence followed by posts running away from providing that evidence also factor into the decision.

Just like there are people alive today who could disclose any untruths in the article in the OP, and so far no one has done so. Seems like we're therefore forced to take is as gospel.

fictional stories and fictional accusations are equivalent they simply fail the proof necessary to support them.
