Can a demon confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh? Is there anything they can't say? Does anyone know or have any information?

"Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world." (1 John 4:1-3)

You could say that 1 John 4:1-3 isn't applicable today. It was written to refute the gnostic teaching of the time that Jesus was a spirit with only the illusion of a human body. The point of it was that Jesus had appeared "in the flesh" and that anyone who claimed he had no fleshly body was not of God. The operative being "in the flesh". A lot of John 20 serves the same purpose. Thomas places his finger into the flesh of Jesus, proving that he was in fact flesh.

1 John 5:1 is also a refutation. He says "Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God". It would be easy for someone, anyone be it a demon or not, to simply say "Jesus is the Christ", but not that they would believe it. It is the confession that Jesus is in fact the Christ, the Messiah, that's important.

First off - in context I think Paul was indicating the kind of dialogue one could expect from false teachers/prophets i.e denying that Jesus is risen in the flesh.

In our country we have such a voice in the Church - a Professor of Theology who denies the resurrection and has quite a following.

I have had some experience with deliverance and personally don't dialogue with demons as they are all liars.

"Acknowledge" means more then just something intellectual.

No they can't do or say anything.

John 3:
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
(NOTE: Born again is speaking to a spiritual birth)

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
(NOTE: This man is a "Doctor of Jewish Law". And is clueless as to what Born again/spiritual birth is)

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
(NOTE: The key context FLESH comes in the next verse)

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
(NOTE: FLESH is FLESH! Demons aren't born in the flesh. These verses eliminate salvation for fallen angels (spirit beings). One must be born in the flesh/physically in order to be born again/spiritually)

Additionally
Luke 8:
27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
(NOTE: Jesus meet a man with devils)

28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.
(NOTE The demon acknowledges who Jesus is. Next Jesus sends the demons into pigs & the pigs drown themselves)

I agree with @HTacianas on this matter, the main point is the Gospel they teach leads men away from the truth of Christ, often in major ways.

Islam is a prime example, they deny even the crucifixion not to mention the resurrection, the "gospel" they teach is of demons, not God.

That said, there are many "wolves in sheep's clothing" that claim to be under the tent of our faith yet teach false gospels. It's easy to point out Islam, but it requires more God-given discernment to look within our own tent...

So you've never heard a demon acknowledge that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh?

If someone is actually hearing demons then there are much bigger problems to address. Whether it be psychological or spiritual.

Does this mean the exorcists in the Anglican and RC churches need to be taken away by the white coats?
