This seems a little contradictory don't you think? You can address the Sabbath commandment, but Sabbath keepers are not allowed? Similar to saying keep God's commandments except the one that God asked us to Remember.
Following popular belief in not what is preached in the Bible. Mathew 7:13-20 13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide
is the gate and broad
is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow
is the gate and difficult
is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Jesus also says Mathew 15:8 ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with
their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
9 And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching
as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”
This seems to sum up not worshipping God on the day He deemed His Sabbath, instead on the man-made teaching that was changed by the Roman Catholic church which admit they changed with
no scriptural authority
A. Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her; —she could not have substituted the observance of
Sunday the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the Seventh day, a change for which there
is no Scriptural authority.
—Rev. Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism; New York in 1857, page 174
It was even predicted in the Bible man would try to change God's Holy day
Daniel 7:25 He shall speak
pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then
the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time.
The Sabbath commandment is the only law that is both a time (every seventh day) and a law (4th commandment and it starts with Remember which is the opposite of forget)
The end times are about worship and what is Satan's greatest deception?
Revelation 12:9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and
Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
What is Satan's greatest deception? Making people believe God's Sabbath is on the first day of the week when there is no scripture to support this.
God clearly defined His Sabbath day from creation Genesis 2:3 and in Exodus 20:8-11
God is the creator of all things including the Heaven and Earth. He is the one who chooses which day is His Holy Sabbath and He clearly did.
Exodus 20
8“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
10but
the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.
In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who
is within your gates.
11For
in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that
is in them,
and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
Is this not the Word of God? He spoke it and wrote it. It's the only scripture in the entire Bible that is written by God and you that is not His Word? You would rather follow the teaching of the Roman Catholic church than God?
Scripture tells us Mark 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men (sums up the 4th commandment perfectly)
God says He is unchanging Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13:8 That means His laws are unchanging. The same law He said to Remember. Why would He say Remember if He meant for us to forget? That seems like a contradictory and our God is not.
We are told to follow Jesus as our example and Jesus kept the Sabbath like His Father instructed:
Luke 4:16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.
John 15:10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commands and remain in his love.
Funny this doesn't say keep all the commandments except the one that my Father said to Remember.
The Sabbath was still the commandment after Jesus rose
Luke 23:56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments;
and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment. Don't you find that weird this verse is in the Bible if the commandment that God asked us to Remember we are supposed to forget?
So according to what you're saying either God contracted Himself or maybe you don't understand some of the scriptures as well and you think you do. Colossians is about feasts and the yearly Sabbath which is very different than the weekly Sabbath that God commanded us to Remember. He said the Sabbath is perpetual covenant which means its forever.
Exodus 31 13 “Speak also to the children of Israel, saying: ‘Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it
is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that
you may know that I
am the Lord who sanctifies you. 14 You shall keep the Sabbath, therefore, for
it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does
any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. 15 Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh
is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does
any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. 16 Therefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations
as a perpetual covenant.
The question is do we follow the Word of God and keep His Sabbath or do we follow the traditions of man. Maybe something to pray about?
