I guess as long as you can delay things until you're out of office, anything goes!

The court instructed the lower courts to wipe away a previous lower court opinion that went against Trump because he is no longer in office. It leaves unresolved a novel question raised in the case because Trump, unlike other presidents, did not use a blind trust when he assumed the presidency, but instead continued to retain an interest in his businesses and let those businesses to take money from foreign and domestic governments.

The Supreme Court may have wiped away the cases of trump's using the office of the presidency to make himself richer, but history and karma probably won't be so kind.

That totally sucks. So much for accountability.

To a degree, it does not leave the emoluments question unresolved; instead it gives future presidents the "go ahead" signal. The ruling clears the way for future Presidents to do the same, or worse, with the idea that they can just need to keep the lawsuit going until they leave office -- at which point it will be moot.

And presumably the cost of defending the president is borne by the tax payer.

They might as well just remove the law if they can't enforce it.
All future presidents should own hotels and restaurants and golf courses.

It's strange. You can't indite a sitting president, but then when he is no longer the president, the courts drop the case. Hard to fathom.
