There needs to be a reasonable way for illegals to become legal without having to leave and come back.
Also, with Biden's people, immigration should be the least of our worries.

Military Service is open to anyone who wants to stay.

If you served honorably in the U.S. armed forces for at least one year during a period of peacetime, you may be eligible to apply for naturalization. While some general naturalization requirements apply under INA 328, other requirements may not apply or are reduced. To establish eligibility under INA 328, you must:

  • Have served honorably, during a period of peacetime, in the U.S. armed forces for a period or periods totaling one year;
  • Have submitted a completed Form N-426, Request for Certification of Military or Naval Service (PDF, 336 KB), at the time of filing the N-400 to demonstrate honorable service;
  • Be a lawful permanent resident at the time of your naturalization interview;
  • Meet certain residence and physical presence requirements;
  • Demonstrate the ability to read, write and speak English;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of U.S. history and government;
  • Demonstrate good moral character for at least five years before filing your N-400 through the day you naturalize; and
  • Demonstrate an attachment to the principles of the U.S. Constitution.
For additional information on eligibility USCIS Policy Manual Volume 12, Part I - Military Members and Their Families.

The year of jubilee, a reset.
The Palestinian refugee camps is what happens if generational rejection occurs, young people born into hatred and crime.

The system works to a degree and needs to give people a chance of hope after a time. People want and need to work, so giving them a break is better than spending billions trying to throw them out. Often those given a chance become the biggest defenders of the community itself that they aspire to.

God bless you

If they're legalized then they're no longer illegal, which is good right?
They are illegal to start with. Might as well let everyone out of prison too right? I am not saying they are all bad but the U.S. should have a way of running them through whatever country they are from and searching to see if they are criminals, wanted, terrorists, etc . and dont just give them citizenship without some procedural protocol that will endanger Americans.

No, but we should definitely let out the ones that are in for pot. Putting people in jail for pot is stupid, especially these days. Our prison system needs an overhaul. People often come out worse than when they went in. We need to figure out how to rehabilitate and quit assuming mere punishment somehow contributes to the common good. But that's a different thread.

That is true. It needs an overhaul.

Read Matthew 25:31-46 and then reply to these questions...thanks

The US is using them to fuel their economy, might as well give them rights too.

We have an asylum law here in America...if they get to place their feet on American soil we grant them amnesty. I believe after vetting them as individuals we should offer them temporary Green Cards toward citizenship. after a designated time (2 years, 5 years, 7 years, whatever we vote on) they wilol show that they have moved toward citizenship and if not then kick them out...as far as rights the law says they cannot collect benefits (definitely NOT the right to vote in State or Federal elections...and definitely NOT food stamps) until they can prove they have been here for 5 years (voting still excluded).

No. If they place their feet on American soil we have to allow them to apply for amnesty. It's certainly not guaranteed that it will be accepted.

How many of the 11+ million illegals have applied for amnesty?

So we are going to make 11 million illegals legal now? That's a great thing to do in a time of economic stuggles for millions of Americans who we are sending money to. We have millions more now to take jobs away and money out of our pockets. Great idea.

I'm a sheep cause I know his voice.

You might want to read Matthew 7. Jesus doesn't accept everyone into his kingdom. There are quite a few scriptures on that.

Jesus also obeyed the laws. Remember pilot said he found no fault. Jesus will turn people away. He would expect us to obey the laws. So those coming here in violation of law are by definition guilty.

We are all aliens but get I to his kingdom by a legal method. We accept Christ. That's the only way. We don't get to sneak in. Jesus said he's the only way.

The law says there you can't come here by illegal methods. Jesus would tell all those illegals to do it legally.

Jesus never rewardef unlawful behavior. He won't reward unlawful behavior by us.

RJS, thank you for that honest response! The law He was referring to (before the propitiatory action of His death, burial, and Resurrection) was the Torah, not the Roman civil law at the time...and yes He did say a lot about not accepting everyone into His kingsom (most of whom were obviously the hypocritical religionists)...

Matthew 7 was a good choice...verse 20 reads "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them" and that brings us back to what He reveals is His heart in Matthew 25. Many of them are also His brethren. Should we therefore judge them? Matthew 25 is a measuriing rod...it draws a line in the sand. Many who believe they are sheep said the magic words and/or took a bath, but like the five unwise virgins of the Church, in the end He will say, "I NEVER knew you". Therefore, I judged no one...let the Lord's words and actions be our guide. Before we judge them we need to each judge ourselves but whoever hurts even the least of His little ones is responsible for their action.

Well done thanks, and IMHO no person having volunteered for the US Military who has fought in a foreign war should be expelled without first making sure they know of this option and have been encouraged by the US government (and assisted) to follow through with the procedures outlined.

There may be merit to his proposal, but enacting such into law would doom the GOP to a minority party status even sooner than the current trend already suggests. It would certainly tip AZ into the Dem column and place TX and FL into jeopardy as well.

DACA folks will become citizens! If necessary, there will be a immigration bill in the next 2 years, that has only this one component. Since some have been here for decades, many will become citizens before the 2024 elections.

The Tea Party Republicans long ago (2012) that the Republican Party MUST appeal to minorities if it is to survive. I recall a campaign stop in the SC primary. Rubio was the candidate. Supporting him were our governor (whose parents were born in India) and our African-American Senator. And we are very, very conservative South Carolina. Our state is one the safest Republican states. Yet, blacks and whites get along. My congressional rep is the the DNC chair. When a lone gunman shot up a black church, there were not riots, only prayers. Obama came and prayed with the brothers and sisters of the church.

There is no reason for Hispanics to be 70% Republican.

BTW, I think that FL will be Republican for a long time.
