They grew King Kong for this matchup. Obviously this is not your grandfather's Fay Wray-clutching Kong.

You're not implying that Hollywood is inconsistent I hope! :rolleyes: Yes, he has grown a lot since 1933. But that's because he was just a young chimp then and now he is a full grown gorilla!

Of course not. I'm sure there's a completely plausible explanation!

One note: you cant just proportionally scale up a creature because essentially a creatures mass is a function of its linear growth to the 3rd power, while its capacity to support mass (cross sectional area of bone) is a function of linear growth squared. Mass overtakes the capacity to support it, unless you start messing with the proportions of the creature and end up with a very squat looking gorilla.

They shrunk Godzilla a lot.

In the older movies King Kong can climb a building to swat at planes, but Godzilla can just shove them over as he wanders past them.

I have two vague memories of numbers from when I was a child of: King Kong 50' and Goldzilla 80m (over 250').
