I can pm you if you want to talk to her.
Thanks, no that's okay. I think tone is still in touch with her. I was just wondering if she is still liking it there and if she misses us, lol.
Your thread turned into a catch all didn't it, lol?
Did you get the immunization for your Mother in law today, did it go well? They don't have enough shots here, really a mess.

No. It was a nightmare and I’m not kidding. I was so angry you could of fried an egg on my head.

Oh. I am sorry. I hear from the news it is very bad here also. The elders can't get an appointment and if they do they wait hours and still are turned away at times. What terrible organization.
Did she eventually get her shot?

No. Not till 2-15-21. Here is what I posted in the lounge.

I’m irritated today. Drove out of town to get my mother-in-law’s first Covid vaccine and the computers are screwing things up. They had her down for a test instead of a vaccination. Ugh! So now her first vaccination is February 15. Was trying to get it done ASAP because she has bloodwork scheduled and a bone density test she cannot get done until her vaccines are completed. She want to see her sister as well and they do not want her to till the vaccinations are completed.

And to top it all off, people were filing on to be tested for Covid! So there was that exposure!

Have you calmed down yet, are things looking brighter?

Yes. I’m in the middle of making a Valentine gift for my mother in law. I mean, it’s irritating but I know there is an issue with distribution. The appointment was made through the health department so there is that along with driving 60 miles to go out of town. Thanks for asking! I was wondering where you were! :)

Maybe this will make you feel a little better. Same situation as yours except they drove 400 miles to Phoenix having a better chance of getting one now rather than later. It was on the news today. I know it was a mother daughter situation but it may have been a mother in law. One was quite elderly. They didn't want to take the chance of her getting it by having to wait.
That kind of thing is all over the news. It seems the elders are NOT getting the first shots as was promised after the emergency people. At one time the current pres. promised in the past that he would work to save the elders after so many deaths in the elder homes. We will see.
I am glad you are feeling better. Have you called the outlying areas to get her scheduled? They managed to get her scheduled before traveling. When I started to listen to the story I thought they were going to say that the place had goofed scheduling her and turned her away after 400 miles. I am sure glad they got it.
I wonder why there are so many miscalculations on the amount of the shots they have. And they are finding people who got shots that weren't supposed to. sheesh!
They said on the news that they are thinking of using the 6 month shots now for people who haven't had any. Has anyone said what happens if you don't get the 6 month shot, do you have to start all over again?
They said there are 400 thousand deaths, is that just for the US or the world? do you know?
It was there error with your Mother in law so they should have somehow fit her in. Did they know you had traveled far?

I haven’t heard of a six month shot. All I know there is a month or less between the first and second vaccine to make it complete. They knew we traveled but if it’s a glitch in the system, what can you do?? We tried to downplay it in front of her because we do not want her to feel bad. It was just irritating and when you take care of others beside your own household, you get tired which leads to less patience. You just get tired. I appreciate the story you relayed. It puts things into perspective. I feel bad about complaining but we were all really frustrated because we followed everything to the letter. So anyway, her first vaccination is on February 15. Hopefully, all will go smoothly as far as that’s concerned. I know that counties in the state are only allowed to give so many vaccinations a day. I think what really bothered me is that they sent us to a place where people were getting tested and I’m bringing my mother in law in that place. It freaked me out.

Well on the positive side they don't have it yet and they were wearing masks?
Do they tell you which shot they are giving out.
They are still talking the 6 months with the first shots as some are coming up for their 6th month shot. Doesn't seem like 6 months ago does it? Makes it seem worse that there is still such a mess after 6 months.

Everyone was wearing masks. Did anyone have it? I don’t know. It was just unnerving.
