Might I suggest, a birding forum in the A&L section.

A forum in the Arts & Leisure section where people can post pictures and videos of birds from their back yards. My mom said that during the C-19 pandemic people are looking to get out of their houses and look at the birds because there is a lot of depression in people right now because of shuttering in and quarantining and she says birds will make them feel better.

I know there is a nature forum for artistic pictures of the woods and stuff, but why not a forum specifically for birding, where people can identify what other people posted that way there is a forum for the birds that make people feel better and can learn what they are taking pictures of, God's eye is on the sparrow..

Just thought it was a good idea...

I like it as I love birds. An argument could be though that what about pics of other animals as they frolic and then there are butterflies except they are seasonal. Just saying. I'd like to see birds of other areas other than mine.

My favorite birds are the Big Bear Bald eagles. There is a live camera of their nest on youtube. I've been watching them for a couple of years. The female bird has been named Jackie. And the male bird is Shadow. She is 8 years old, and he is 6

. . .God's eye is on the sparrow..
Beautiful reference. And since my favorite birds are bald eagles.. I'd like to add that one of my favorite scriptures is .. Isaiah 40:31

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

I've been watching the South Florida Eagle cam off and on with Harriet and M-15. Recently they have been pestered the last few days by a great horned owl who has been trying to get at their eggs. They should be hatching soon.

Saw a bunch of different birds today while out and about this morning:

3 black vultures
two gulls
American crow
lots of Canada geese and mallard ducks
a great blue heron

I also heard a lot of songbirds in the trees but wasn't able to spot any due to the glare of the sun in my eyes. I did manage to spot an eastern grey squirrel up in one of them though. :)

You know if a bird forum is too specific, maybe we could have a wildlife forum.

Not the best pic but it’s wild turkeys I took in my front yard taken from my phone from one of my decks. In other words, I’d be into one of your threads. :)

Jackie Eagle has laid 3 eggs within the last month. Sadly a hungry pair of ravens made a feast of two of them. The third egg was broken when she laid it. I have watched the pair raise an eaglet. The Big bear group named this eaglet 'Simba'. Was hilarious how Jackie and Shadow taught him how to eat on his own.. and to defend his food. And adorable how he learned to manage his talons to hold the food to eat it. Simba grew and fledged and I haven't seen him since. He seemed to be intimidated by his father, Shadow. But he saved and hid a fish tail from him, and when Shadow wasn't around.. he gave the fish tail to his mother Jackie. It was adorable. ^_^

I live in the woods. Tons of eagles, etc. I think the birding threads would fit in here:
Pets & Animals

Many years ago, we had a wild turkey admiring himself in the reflection he saw in our van. :D

I'm visited by a Northern Mockingbird nearly every Sunday morning when I'm out-of-town and am sitting in my car having breakfast. It flies up and sits on the guardrail right in front of me for a moment or two and then flies away again. I didn't think it would show up today since I was getting ready to leave and then suddenly, there it was. It came! I'm so happy! There were a few crows flapping around as well, which is fairly normal, so I love that too!

I never could get her to turn to me after I got the camera out...

What kind of bird is that? I just saw an image that looks similar to it called a harpy eagle. However the harpy seems to be much bigger. The image I saw had stripes across it's tail like the one in your photo.

Isn't it amazing how God has created so many different species. All kinds of birds.. with all kinds of colors and sounds and patterns. He truly is the ultimate Creator and the Master Designer.

You started this thread asking for a forum for birds that will help people feel better while been locked in because of the current world situation. Well, I'm feeling a bit better already.. just to be able to marvel over these wonderful creatures.. and how the Lord made them all so unique.

I had a beautiful female Rosy Bourke parakeet. I can't find my photo but here's a video of another person's Rosy Bourke.
