2. Magnetic Field - To protect from solar blasts
3. Size - Just the right amount of gravity
4. Water - I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil. And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full.- Deuteronomy 8
5. Soil - For the Lord thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of oil olive, and honey; A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass. When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lordthy God for the good land which he hath given thee.- Deuteronomy 8

A common argument confusing cause and effect - the unsupported assumption that the world was made for life.

This quote from Douglas Adams says it all:

This is rather as if you imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, 'This is an interesting world I find myself in — an interesting hole I find myself in — fits me rather neatly, doesn't it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!' This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, frantically hanging on to the notion that everything's going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise. I think this may be something we need to be on the watch out for.

The Salmon of Doubt, Douglas Adams,

The Earth is one of only eight planets in the solar system. There are hundreds of billions of stars in the Galaxy, and probably a similar number of planets. How do you know that none of these planets are just as suitable as the Earth as homes for life?

(1) You must know that the Earth's pristine atmosphere did not contain oxygen (or ozone); the oxygen in the present atmosphere has been produced by living things.
(5) Soil is also as much a product of living things as of the weathering of rock.
(6) We are not the only animals to have these organs, and there was life on Earth for nearly three billion years before these organs evolved. By the way, you forgot to mention brains, lungs and hearts.

My viewpoint of creationism is unique...
If E = mc2 then we can divide and conclude that...

Mass (m) = Energy (E/c2) And there are three varieties...

Natural E/c2 - All mass is basically cooled plasma, the sun is the visible form of E/c2
Mental E/c2 - Our thinking can produce creativeness, light, and good things
Spiritual E/c2 - E (motivation, warmth, love) / c2 (faith, hope, charity, joy)

I believe the big bang occurred when God uttered these words...

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. - Genesis 1:3

The E/c2 cooled back to mass as it expanded out from a point of origin. Such mass froze into elements as the Father willed it. It took intelligent design and spiritual motive for such an event to have taken place. I believe the elements will soon disassociate back into E/c2 and God will take all that energy and do something else with it.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness? - 2 Peter 3:10-11

I was on my cellphone and at work, apologies. I will address the post here. My viewpoint of creationism is unique...

1. A large chunk of space rock floating there in space
2. M=E/c2 with the let there be light quote
3. E/c2 back into mass and the solar system comes into existence
4. I believe Adam was created around 4000 BC
5. Isaac Newton predicted Christ’s return in 2060 AD
6. Another 1000 years called the millennial
7 The mass returns to plasma where God will do something else with it

My views here are unique and I want to be careful of my words.

I accept that you think that addresses the points raised in Astrophile's post, but just to make you aware - it doesn't appear to. But thank you for trying.

The topic is to me mind boggling, I did my best. Space rock floating there in the eternities. That is forever and to me mind boggling. Let us say that a trillion years takes place between the Big Bang and the point in which the stars fade away and the area called the universe becomes now uncountable space rock floating in the eternities. Yet, compared to eternity the area of the universe is tiny, and the trillion of years few. If God does not do something with the mass of the universe it will soon, compared to the eternities be nothing but a small spot of rock dust floating in space. If aliens were to ever fly through it, let’s say quadrillion years later, they may have a tough time navigating through it.

The time equivalent to a quadrillion years is still very short compared to eternity. The space rock floating in the eternities to at one point to have become plasma energy. I believe it had help to eventually have formed into the reality as we know it. Space rock from our reality may at some time light someone else’s sky in the form of meteors!

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity... - Isaiah 57:15

Eternity blows my mind as it is forever ahead of us and forever behind us. It is also forever to the east, west, north, and south.

I believe Albert Einstein himself was a creationist as he once said... “Every one who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe-a spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble.” -Albert Einstein

And a quote... Noting his reference to God...

"The real problem is in the hearts and minds of men. It is not a problem of physics, but of ethics. It is easier to denature plutonium than to denature the evil spirit of man. What frightens us is not the explosive power of the atom bomb, but the equally explosive powers of human personalities.

"Man's skills have outstripped his morals. His engineering has leaped ahead of his wisdom. We cannot cancel or call back his scientific advance, but we can and must, if the world is to survive, help man to catch up. In God's name, if you still believe in God ... We must somehow get control of what science has given the world, or else we shall perish." - Albert Einstein

President Dwight Eisenhower ~~~ "Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, and the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the clouds of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron."
