I thought they had installed a new vocalist years ago.
Who, Journey?

I saw them years ago with the new singer (free corporate block of seats). Pretty good. But when Perry left, they must have been daunted at the prospect of filling his shoes.

FBI: Cowboys for Trump founder taken into custody in connection to Capitol riots

Cowboys for Trump founder and Otero County Commissioner Couy Griffin, 47, was detained in Washington, D.C. Sunday for his involvement in the Jan 6. Capitol riot.

In a video, Griffin said rioters would return to the Capitol when President-elect Joe Biden is sworn in on Jan. 20.

"Blood will run out of the building," he said in the video.

Griffin's group Cowboys for Trump has previously demonstrated at many events including anti-public health order protests. The group also came under fire last May when Griffin said “I’ve come to a place where I’ve come to the conclusion that the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat."

[I note Trump retweeted that.]

Linda Magovern, 63, of Stratford, Connecticut, was arrested near Union Station after she said she was an officer and “a part of the presidential cabinet,” and presented a military police challenge coin, a D.C. police report says.

In another arrest this weekend in the area, a Virginia man carrying an unlicensed gun and ammunition was arrested early Sunday, police say.

Guy Berry, 22, of Gordonsville, was walking with a handgun “clearly visible in a holster” as he walked in the 200 block of Massachusetts Avenue NE, a D.C. police report says. He was then found with “three high-capacity magazines” and 37 rounds of ammunition.

A lead on Nancy's laptop!

A woman seen wearing a white nationalist T-shirt and directing people towards Nancy Pelosi’s office during the Capitol insurrection on Jan. 6 is now under investigation for possibly stealing the Speaker of the House’s laptop and planning to sell it to Russia’s secret service.

Riley June Williams, 22, from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, is currently on the run from authorities after video footage captured inside the Capitol clearly shows her taking an active role in directing the insurrection.

According to a former love interest of Williams, who contacted the FBI’s tip line in the days after the attack, Williams had stolen a laptop or hard drive from Pelosi’s office, which she planned to give to the Kremlin.

Gotta love the Law and Order branch of the Republican Party. Clearly a True Patriot.

Those Capitol rioters were far-right, yet anything but "conservative" imo.

They were far-right radicals, basically.
This is what the GOP is left with after embracing Donald for 4 years. Is it what it is, as they say.

Who, Journey?

Iced earth.

I still have some of their music floating around in my playlists and devices but have no idea what they have done in the past 8ish years. Last I knew their founder had stepped back from doing vocals as his voice was not what it once was and they had acquired a new vocalist to take his place.

Cant say that I am shocked he got caught up in this madness as he was making comments years ago that indicate he was on that range of the political spectrum. Shame though as the bands work gets associated with that in my mind now.

Ah. Im not even familiar with them. Seems like metal people are more associated with weird beliefs than average. And I'm talking about people who make some music I really enjoy.

No longer on the run!

Riley June Williams, 22, was detained in Pennsylvania on charges of violently and illegally entering the building, and disorderly conduct.

...if convicted of conspiracy, he will be spending most of his remaining days in prison.

Texas man at Capitol riot allegedly threatened to kill his kids if they turned him in: ‘Traitors get shot’
Two days after Guy Reffitt joined the rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, federal officials said, he returned home to Wylie, Tex., and proudly told his family of his escapade. But by Jan. 11, when Reffitt learned the FBI was on to him, he changed his tune, according to an affidavit.

“If you turn me in, you’re a traitor and you know what happens to traitors … traitors get shot,” Reffitt, 48, said to his son and daughter, according to his wife, who recounted the conversation to the FBI, which did not name the relatives.

Reffitt’s son told authorities that around Jan. 11, he told him and his sister to “erase everything.” The man then allegedly told his son that if he “crossed the line and reported Reffitt to the police, putting the family in jeopardy, Reffitt would have no option but to do Reffitt’s duty for Reffitt’s country, and ‘do what he had to do,’ ” the affidavit said.

“I love him but I hate him,” he said of his father. “I don’t really know him anymore.”

“The mob was fed lies,” McConnell told the chamber, which two weeks earlier had been evacuated as rioters invaded the building. “They were provoked by the president and other powerful people.”

The Republicans in the Senate have started to return to democratic values - for now. It would be appropriate to join the Democratic Senators in condemning Trump without dissent. We'll see.

There is a new video by YouTuber LegalEagle that is very interesting. He explains why we are seeing so many rioters being charged with simple Trespassing charges, not more serious or felony charges. He explains that to file felony charges in federal court, you must have a grand jury. By contrast, for misdemeanor charges you just need to go before a judge and file a complaint. Particularly as there are no sitting Grand Juries currently in many locations around the country, Federal Prosecutors are starting with the trespassing charges to get the person into the criminal justice system and, once they can take the case to a grand jury, will be looking at enhancing the charges. It is an interesting video and mentions what charges might still be coming for some of the rioters, and what defense they may have.
