Here is your destiny...
Romans 8:29. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be
conformed to the image of his Son
, that he might be the firstborn
among many brethren.

To what end?

Romans 15:5-6
Romans 16:27
1 Corinthians 10:31
2 Corinthians 4:15
Matthew 5:16

To be one with the Father and the Son...
John 17:
20
I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;
21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, in Me, and I in You;
that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.

22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:
23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know
that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

Um...this passage doesn't say that Christians will be - or should be - one with the Father and Son but with each other as members of the Body of Christ, the Church.

We can never be one with the Father in the way Jesus is, because none of us is - or ever will be - God.

To be found in Him upon His return.
1 John 4:17. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

Is this the destiny of the believer? When I look into Scripture, it appears this is merely the beginning of the destiny, the eternal journey, a child of God takes with God through and in Christ.

Not that we would be God, but that our relationship to God would reflect their relationship.

2 John 1:9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God.
He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

Of course. Until that day,
To be found in Him upon His return.
1 John 4:17. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

The Holy Spirit is working in us to conform to His image.
Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
As you have annotated, to His Glory, that we are partakers of:
1 Corinthians 2:7. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden,
which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
2 Corinthians 3:18
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Submitting this change based on your insights. Good post. Much appreciated.
His Purpose For You.

Romans 8:
28
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are
the called according to His purpose.
29
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that
He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30
Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called,
these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified
