Mine is not, i do not believe any of sciences descriptions about Gods creation and i do not try and make, "by saying somethings the Bible is not saying" areas of the Bible to agree with the lies of science.

so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. -1 Corinthians 2:5

When people’s faith rest in the wisdom of men, they are like children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by HUMAN CUNNING, by CRAFTINESS IN DECEITFUL SCHEMES, as written in Ephesians 4:14

But when our faith that rest in the power of God — when our faith rest in Christ or when our faith rest in Christ’s love.

in real life, though we have not seen the Lord, we love Him.
In real life, though we do not see the Lord now, we believe in Him for our Lord Jesus Christ willingly to come from heaven and give Himself for us at the cross.
This is what we have heard:
but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, CHRIST THE POWER OF GOD and the wisdom of God. -1 Corinthians 1:24

When our Lord Jesus Christ came and preached us His gospel, that is, His words that are SPIRIT and LIFE, the POWER OF GOD for salvation to Jews and Gentiles.

In union with Christ Jesus and through the Gospel, the Holy Spirit has revealed to His apostles and prophets that we Gentiles are also partakers with the Jews in what God the Father has promised, that is, His covenant of love according to Ephesians 3:5-6

as we have heard:
Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting COVENANT, my steadfast, sure LOVE for David. -Isaiah 55:3

Bueller? Bueller?

Where are my Word of Faith folks?

Many Bueller's are taking a break is all I can say. There is a few of us hanging around keeping an eye on our forum as Watchmans's... until the other WOF regulars sneak back in here. They may be prepping... who knows?

Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. —Philippians 2:12-13

I don't put my faith in pastors, churches, institutions, politicians, etc. My allegiance is to the Lord. I care for the people He's placed in my life. But not at the expense of my purpose or His directives. I've gone against them in the past when it comes to Him.

When you're seeking acceptance and validation from others you'll make compromises to feel good. The flesh is sated and weakened by doing so. The straight and narrow path isn't the most popular or easiest road to travel. You'll encounter situations that reveal your first love. Not what you tell yourself and others. But the real truth underneath.

Through these experiences we discover the impediments that hinder holiness. The Refining Fire sloughs away the old and imbues us with a greater manifestation of His presence. 'No' becomes easier with every encounter and we become more like Him in the process.

Wonderful! What does putting your faith in the power of God look like in daily life? What have been some of the results?

God is my touchstone. My barometers for daily living and personal growth are set by Him. The mark I'm working towards isn't based on feelings, capacity, etc. I believe what He says. I don't allow myself to move around it.

If He sets the bar at 10, that's where I'm heading. I don't have the liberty of cop outs or bemoaning my shortcomings. I dig in my heels and keep pushing. He fuels my movements and I'm strengthened by Him. I see myself as He does and that's the difference.

It requires a lot of sacrifice. I've lost autonomy in my personal and professional life. He forged my alliances and required me to rekindle connections I'd set aside. In the same vain, I've relinquished things I've held dear. Being attentive is a must. We talk all day and He intervenes at will.

I liken Him to a Holy GPS. He directs my steps. I'm still learning. I've come a long way but there's a lot of road ahead. :)

You are asking what does putting my faith in the power of God look like ? What have been some of the results ? Can I explain as to new believer in Christ?

How is my faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God, as written in 1 Corinthians 2:5?

It is obvious that the power of God comes from God. Do many know who God is and where God is ?

Some seek men of human wisdom to explain to them who God is and where He is. For us, it has been made clear at these last days, God has spoken to us by His Son, Jesus Christ as explained in Hebrews 1:1.

What Jesus say who God is ?
God is SPIRIT, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." -John 4:24

Where God is, that Jesus spoke of ?
This is what we have heard:
It is the SPIRIT who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The WORDS that I have spoken to you ARE SPIRIT and life. -John 6:63

So, where is God ? Likewise, we imitate apostle Paul and what he taught us:

And we impart this in words NOT TAUGHT BY HUMAN WISDOM but TAUGHT BY THE SPIRIT, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. -1 Corinthians 2:13

God is Spirit and the words that Jesus Christ have spoken are Spirit and life. So where God’s words are, that is, where God is, as we are taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual to those who are spiritual.

This is also what we have heard:
May the LORD give strength to His people! May the LORD bless his people with peace! -Psalms 29:11

We know that the will of God to give us, His people with His strength or power.

Likewise, we also have been told in this two translation in Psalms 68:34 :

ACKNOWLEDGE that STRENGTH belongs to God, with his majesty over Isra'el and his strength in the skies.-Psalms 68:34 CJB

Ascribe POWER to God, whose majesty is over Israel, and whose power is in the skies. -Psalms 68:34 ESV

From the Holy Scripture, we can ascertain that we need to acknowledge that power belong to God. Why do we need to acknowledge something that is obvious that power or strength comes from God? It is because it is not that obvious when we are in weaknesses, hardship, troubles and prosecutions; as many still depend on their strength rather than God. That is why His Spirit or His words reminds us of this so that we walk in obedience by continuing to acknowledge and trust in His power to save us.

Apostle Paul have told us :
ALL SCRIPTURE IS BREATHED OUT BY GOD and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, -2 Timothy 3:16

That means that all scripture is breathed out by the Holy Spirit and the words taught by the Spirit are in all Scripture.

Why we have to be concerned with words taught by the Holy Spirit to know His power ?

Listen carefully what apostle Paul reveal through his prayer when he comes humbly before God the Father :

that according to the riches of his glory He ( God the Father ) may grant you ( us) TO BE STRENGTHENED WITH POWER THROUGH HIS SPIRIT in your inner being, -Ephesians 3:16
so that CHRIST MAY DWELL IN YOUR HEARTS THROUGH FAITH that you, being rooted and grounded in love, -Ephesians 3:17

It is clear that God the Father strengthen us with power in our inner being through His Holy Spirit so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith in His words taught by the Spirit, not words taught in human wisdom.

How my faith rest in the power of God, not in human wisdom?

I do that by acknowledging His strength or His words daily ; I do that by submitting myself to His words daily ; I put hope in His words daily; I trust in His words daily; I trust in His words and His faithfulness. When I was in in distress, I know His words can give me relief. When I was in troubles, I know God can redeem out of troubles. When I was in hard ship, I trust in His help even when I can’t see but believe God is carrying through with His steadfast love. When I was in weaknesses, I accept that I was weak and believe the Holy Spirit help me in my weaknesses with groaning too deep for words in accord with God’s will; I believe the Holy Spirit can give His power or strength to me, His people. When I was in prosecution, I know God give me the power or strength to carry my cross that I may share in the joy of the fellowship of Christ’s suffering.

To new believer, I say that you need to accept the things of the Spirit of God. Otherwise, you are not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned, as we have heard in 1 Corinthians 2:14

When Holy Spirit comes or His words or the Spirit of His words come, you will receive power ; that is what our Lord Jesus Christ have spoken in Acts 1:8.

Daily, receive His words by acknowledging His words and acknowledging His power, that is how our hearts is strengthen with power through the Holy Spirit so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through we put faith in His words.

When Christ have dwell in our hearts through faith, this is what we have heard:

but TO THOSE WHO ARE CALLED, both Jews and Greeks, CHRIST THE POWER OF GOD and the wisdom of God. -1 Corinthians 1:24

When Christ have dwelled in our hearts through faith, our faith have rested in the power of God; for Christ is the power of God in our hearts.

Remember this is what is spoken of our Lord Jesus Christ:

He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and He upholds the universe by THE WORD OF HIS POWER. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, -Hebrews 1:3

Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to Your holy name we give glory because of Your grace and truth.

Hallelujah. Amen

1 Corinthians 2:5 Is a well known verse--

Our faith should not be invested in the wisdom of other men
But on the powers of God.

People's opinions are flawed even if true and honest, there is a saying the marines use "Trust but verify", even what I say, I look to the Word of the Lord and I know it is true because it can't be manipulated like the words of people. The bible is a book that talks, But only equipped people can hear it.

Don't trust in religion but hold onto faith alone and it will all come to you in time.

Also if you want a true story from a witness as for as my time with my bible; two years ago I was planning on going to basically "Run away" from home and there was good reason for my intent on where I was going but one day I randomly flip through the good book and I came across the story of Balaam, so I took is as a message from God not to go so I didn't...

That includes bible study, theology etc, which in many cases, is just the wisdom of men bending scripture into a shape that suits them.

For me, it is first having a solid scriptural foundation. Then through the course of life, listening to the Holy Spirit's teaching and wisdom to understand the meaning of the scripture, and even God the Father's thinking behind the scriptures and precisely how it applies to us today. That's how we separate flesh from bone and accurately divide the word.

Without the Holy Spirit's guidance, we are like rubber dinghies being thrown about on the stormy sea. He is the answer to all of life's issues. The teachings of men routinely ignore the Holy Spirit, and that is the big problem in this world we live in.

I like how you asked this question.

I see the works of God in the smallest things that occure in my daily life.

Events that fall into place, that only God and I know of.
It is a relationship of Father and son on a Spiritual level.
God knows my thoughts, desires, and understands my curiosity.
His love is so great, that it breaks my heart to do and say some of the things I do.
I know that we are forgiven through His sacrifice for us.
knowing you are forgiven is often not enough in my mind, my Spirit knows it is
reconciled, and that is when I can ease my mind.
I am replying by my own experience about the relationship I have with God.
It may seem self centered to talk about me ,myself, and I So I will try to explain knowing God the Father God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
I know who at a given time is speaking to me, each part is separate yet one.
I know that those small things, such as having coffee with a crow, both of you look at something at the same time, then look at each other then go back to what we were doing may just sound nuts.
Only God can give you certain events to let you enjoy his glory.
To write it is impossible.
God is my guide in all things and I am thankful.
God loves us all, and He knows our pain, even when it all seems wrong it will all make sense soon

I use to be a die hard 'word of faith' advocate myself (still am, to a lesser degree) but in this season I find myself taking a more fundamentalist approach to the divine reason of holy scripture.

My belief is that here, the Apostle Paul is elevating the importance of God's word and promises above that of what we may consider the wisdom (natural logic, reason, science, and philosophy) of man ('worldly wisdom').

I remember a scripture (I believe in the Gospel of John? Edit - 1 John 2:15-17) that declares 'all that is in the world.. the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life...is not from God but is of the (secular) world.

At work on my phone so I'm spitballing here.. may edit in the Scripture later but it may come to mind.

Ok I found the Scripture.. it's on not loving the world.

My conviction is that it's for all believers, not just the preacher.

I think our faith being in the power of God.. this means to take His Word at face value, believing that it holds true spiritual authority.

This faith (as it appears to me) means to love what God loves and hate what He hates.

This makes sense, if we are being tranformed from glory to glory in the image of His (God's) dear son (Christ) then we will inevitably be 'Christ-like' no?
