In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida (Iron Butterfly); Cover by Sina

Another Sina fan (and I've been around since the beginning of rock and beyond). The closest anybody has come to matching the drumming masterpiece. They might consider replacing the lead player though.

"In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida" was one of those long, trippy tunes that you could just sit back and kind of coast through---another one was "Light My Fire" by the Doors (of course), and "Soul Kitchen"; then there was "A Whiter Shade of Pale: by Procul Harum (especially if you played it back-to-back with "Homburg"); and "Crimson and Clover" by Tommy James and the Shondells. A little bit later on, and not quite in the same category, but close enough, was "American Pie" by Don McLean.

I've read some stories about this song. I believe there is even a documentary about it on Youtube or amazon prime.

Apparently they slurred the words when saying the title to someone and that slurred title stuck, because it is claimed that it was supposed to be "In the Garden of Eden". And coming from that world and culture myself to some degree, I believe that.

Radio DJ's used to play it to give themselves bathroom breaks. Dead serious. That's why it enjoyed radio play far longer than it should have.

I've read that, too. Also interesting is the song "Joy To the World" by Three Dog Night---the lyrics start out with "Jeremiah was a bullfrog", but apparently the original words were "Jeremiah was a prophet". Why they changed it, I don't know.

Then there's "Land of 1,000 Dances" by Cannibal and the Headhunters---the lead singer forgot the words to the first verse, so he improvised by "Na-na-na-na"-ing his way through it. That became the standard version: everybody who covered the song after that (Wilson Pickett, etc.), did the same thing.
