What is the Orthodox Church’s stance on the postmodern lgbtq idea of the gender spectrum?
I agree. I guess I should clarify... how should one respond to a person who believes in the gender spectrum in a firm and uncompromising way rooted in Christ and His Truth?it's nonsense.
Depends a lot on the context of the situation, your relationship with the personI agree. I guess I should clarify... how should one respond to a person who believes in the gender spectrum in a firm and uncompromising way rooted in Christ and His Truth?
Well, aren’t there non-negotiables that one wouldn’t omit, no matter what, based on Orthodox anthropology?Depends a lot on the context of the situation, your relationship with the person

What if it’s a diversity class and I’m talking to group of people about it?that depends on the person you are talking to

I see. I’ll have to take that approach. Didn’t think about it in that way. Thanks.that depends on what they want to know. you can present the theory as simply a theory without affirming it, and then just be a skeptic without being hostile.

Do you have any other tips from your experience that could help me out further regarding this topic?I do it a lot as an Army Chaplain.

So, just so I’m getting the full picture (because I agree with you wholeheartedly on this)... what is the Orthodox perspective fully so I can check it with my understanding?just in today's day and age, wait for others to sincerely ask you what you think, only after building up enough trust so that if you give the Orthodox position on something, they are more likely to think about it rather than jump down your throat.

Ah, so it’s centered in self-justification and pride. I see. But, the positive understanding would also be (if I’m understanding correctly) that man and woman are made equal in value being made in the image and after the likeness of God and are created to be distinctly male and female in multiple areas (e.g. men have a stronger irascible power and women have a stronger desiring power, XX and XY chromosome differences... and more)... also that culture changes, but God’s eternal purpose for men and women does not even though they have different struggles towards that purpose being made male and female... right?a modern attempt to justify sinful behavior

Thank youcorrect
That you do! I've met a few Orthodox Navy chaplains in my time and you can always see this bit of relief whenever they meet a fellow Orthodox.I do it a lot as an Army Chaplain.
