Hello I'm joey and Well I'm new here and dont even know how this works. I need some help and any reply will be gratefull.my name is joey and I'm currently in state prison for a crime I did not commit.im sure people hear this all the time and that is fine if people dont believe me I'm not trying to convince anyone because I already gave up on people like my public defender saying they would help prove my innocence and that not happening. I just need help because I feel like god abandoned me. Why would god send me to prison for so long for something I did not do? Why do I have to go through all this pain for nothing? My mom passed away while I have been in prison and I could not be there to see her before she died. I have even lost contact with my daughter and cannot get that back. Now covid is here and we cannot get visits and i have not seen my wife in almost a year now because of this virus.I just dont know what to do. I just want to give up and be done because I dont understand how go could allow an innocent man to go to prison and abandon me. I know I'm complaining but I just dont know what to do

If there is something I learned on my journey with God it is that no situation we encounter and no place we end in is unguided by God. There are some things God lets happen and there are other things God actively makes happen, but no matter for which reason we are in our current situation God will make use of it - and of us in that situation.
The only one who can answer your question "why am I in this prison?" is the one who put you there: God. Maybe He wants to show you something about Himself, maybe He wants you to learn patience to wait until His time has come to help you (God is never in a hurry and trying to be faster than God only leads to misery), or maybe He needs someone in that specific prison to tell others about Him. Who knows, maybe there is someone you get to know in your current situation who is meant to be led to God by you.

There is a dozen possible reasons why we go through tough times and we will never understand those situations while we deal with them. The understanding only comes when it is over, when we can look back at it from the outside and see God's plan in the midst of injustice and suffering.

May God answer you when you turn to Him and give you the strength to endure in these hard times. Glory to Him!

Joey,
You may want to read the story of Joseph (Gen 37-47). He went through many trials including being envied, betrayed, falsely accused, unjustly thrown in prison, and practically forgotten. (A decent type of our Lord).
God Bless.

p.s. while you're at it, look up John the Baptist and the doubts he went through only to be unjustly beheaded.

Well, I could give you some super-spiritual answer and Bible quotes, but it is horrible what is happening with you. I feel for you.

Be glad you did not do that awful thing.

All the time, I get attacked with imaginations of how I could be framed or falsely accused and hated by the prosecutor and put in and tortured to try to make me confess. This world is evil; so yes this could happen to me, and I could become your roommate.

So, I trust God. And we can have joy with Him and loving any and all people. And He makes the way for us to be with other Jesus people.

Prove your innocence by how you are kind and gentle and humble with people.

I just want to give up and be done because I dont understand how go could allow an innocent man to go to prison and abandon me. I know I'm complaining but I just dont know what to do

(Gen 1:27) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
(Gen 1:28) And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

(Psa 115:16) The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

God has ultimate control over everything, but He has delegated control over the earth to people in flesh bodies; God did not send you to prison - men did. God gave men free will, and more often than not, men use that free will for evil.

(Joh 8:29) And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
(Joh 8:30) As he spake these words, many believed on him.
(Joh 8:31) Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
(Joh 8:32) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

as you study God's Word through the bible, you will learn to receive direction from Him; direction on who to contact about your situation, what to say to them, etc. - and you learn how to perceive His direction by practicing this in little things in daily life. for example, ask Him who to talk to and who to avoid each day - He knows everyone's heart, and while He won't override anyone's free will, He will guide you with His knowledge of what inmates around you have in their heart toward you - He may not tell you what's in their heart, but He will use His knowledge to guide you.

try to look at this from a spiritual view; you have an opportunity to focus on God through His Word that most people don't - you're free of dependents, free of the requirement to earn money to buy food and shelter with, etc.

it's a hard fact that you are in a 'desert' of sorts; your options are limited for the time being - but this allows you the freedom to focus. if you can focus on God through His Word, He can teach you though His Holy Spirit inside of you, and the Truth will make you free from torment where you are now, and wherever you will go.

the first step is to recognize where you are with God - have you made Jesus your Savior, Lord, and Master?

Joey, Joseph in the OT is a great place to start for an example of your situation. Just keep in mind that God delt with people in the OT differently than He did after the cross. I know it does not seem like it but you are blessed beyond belief. I correspond with men who have to rely on indigent mail for letters and live in a state where internet usage is not allowed. Combined with the current Covid restrictions makes for some faith testing months and possibly years.

I always point at Paul as a good example of how God deals with man now under grace. In the case of Paul he was also falsely accused and even executed. Like you he had a way of getting the message out and hence we have some of the letters that most of Christendom hold most deal. If you are able please let me know how you are doing. There is a private message ability to this forum and you are welcome to send me one.

Don't forget to shine in that dark place and know that the Lord is looking out for you and waiting for you in eternity.

You're not alone Brother, most of us are having to make adjustments to our lifestyles due to covid. I'm currently going through a situation where people are trying to take what rightfully belongs to me and I have to exercise patience until I can get the appropriate authorities to handle the situation.

The word of God says 'Let your hope keep you joyful, be patient in your troubles and pray at all times' Romans 12:12

At the appointed time you will realize that God is using this situation to build up qualities in you like patience even in troubles and trials, joy regardless of what you're going through and hope. You will come out of this a Victor, God bless

God's will in all we face is that we use each situation we are in as an opportunity to be more like Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:28-29
28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;

The "good" of verse 28 is, first and foremost, becoming conformed to the image of His Son mentioned in verse 29.

God's priorities for our lives extend beyond the here-and-now into eternity. He's working to prepare you for an eternal life with Him. That's where the lives of all who know and love Him are headed.
And so, He allows all sorts of things to confront us in our lives so that we are best prepared to enjoy forever with Him.

God must wean us off of all the things we love more than Him, you see. He must wean us even off of ourselves. This process can be painful, if we don't want to live in line with God's purposes for us. But God is good. He will prepare us well, even when we aren't keen on Him doing so, even when it hurts.

God has not abandoned you, if you are one of His children. And He will see justice done, if not on this side of the grave, most surely on the other. In any case, is God not enough, wherever you find yourself? Can He not satisfy you, regardless of your circumstance? Sure He can; He's God. And He does, as you live according to His will and way. When He is in constant control of you, you can be content even in prison.

Isaiah 26:3-4
3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you: because he trusts in You.
4 Trust in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

Hebrews 4:14-16
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Many times, God's answer to our prayers is just Himself; not a change in our physical circumstance, not more money or a better job, not good health, not the applause of others, but Himself. And why wouldn't this be? Is He not greatest in all of Creation? Is He not higher and better than everything else in the universe combined? Yes, He is. When He offers to us Himself, then, He gives to us the very best thing possible.

But God is small in our eyes. We don't see the offer of Himself as the astounding gift that it is. A myriad of other things we think better, more important, than merely having Him. And so, when God gives us of Himself, we think ourselves ill-used, that God is holding back on us. How wrong we are! And how horribly blind and offensive to God we are when we think this way!

2 Samuel 7:22
22 ...You are great, O Lord GOD; for there is none like You, and there is no God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

Psalm 147:1-20
1 Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting.
2 The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the outcasts of Israel.
3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
4 He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names.
5 Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.
6 The LORD lifts up the humble; he casts the wicked to the ground.
7 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make melody to our God on the lyre!
8 He covers the heavens with clouds; he prepares rain for the earth; he makes grass grow on the hills.
9 He gives to the beasts their food, and to the young ravens that cry.
10 His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the legs of a man,
11 but the LORD takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.
12 Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!
13 For he strengthens the bars of your gates; he blesses your children within you.
14 He makes peace in your borders; he fills you with the finest of the wheat.
15 He sends out his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly.
16 He gives snow like wool; he scatters frost like ashes.
17 He hurls down his crystals of ice like crumbs; who can stand before his cold?
18 He sends out his word, and melts them; he makes his wind blow and the waters flow.
19 He declares his word to Jacob, his statutes and rules to Israel.
20 He has not dealt thus with any other nation; they do not know his rules. Praise the LORD!

Your story sounds very sad and sincere, friend; and I would like to share some thoughts for you to meditate on and pray about. Speaking of God is something a lot of people do when in crisis, dear friend. What you need to meditate on, I think (and I don't know everything, but I do know God and His Word very well) is to truly take time to think about God and not just reason about Him. Believing in God is not about just some power in the heavens, but a loving Creator who made man because He wanted children who would learn to love and obey Him, and He could have with Him in Heaven forever. Mankind yielded to Satan and fell into a sinful condition (see Genesis 2 & 3). God is now redeeming souls who will recognize Him as their "heavenly Father" and seek to obey and yield to His plan for recovery ---which is found fully in His "...beloved Son: the Lord Jesus, the Christ of God (note John 14).

It is not about His 'failure' as Satan is seeking you to believe, but trying to awaken you to His love (note John 3:16) ---I hope you have a Holy Bible available. I cannot go into deeper help here, friend, but I encourage you to write me at the personal CONVERSATION page on this site.

Do you read His Holy Word to man? Have you read such as John 3, John 14; Romans 8; Galatians 2:20; etc. as starters to understand what God wants to say to you and all seekers? Well, I will pray for you, friend, and hope to hear from you if you seek peace and understanding of our loving God. - 1Watchman.
